Actually, there are very large lawsuits over such things. Most folks don't know that the big crop producers patent their variety strains. So as an example. If you plant a Monsanto corn in the field next to mine and I plant an open pollenated corn and they cross pollinate. I will get sued because I didnt pay for the Monsanto corn. They consider it infringement....and it's no joke. My neighbor in colorado got sued that way. Both him and I are/were organic farmers. So we plant mostly heirloom varieties. we are loosing alot due to the way we farm in the industrialized world. I could go on and on about such things. However, you are right. Sweet corn hasn't been around that long. My uncle used to plant a few rows for us amongst his field corn. Used to go out with my grandma to pick it all and throw it in the truck. Then spend the next week blanching and freezing it all.

So I was out and about today and spotted an older gent out on his mobility scooter. Freaking thing had like a wheelie bar kinda thing behind it. Must have a few mods done to it.

Its just a hobby truck. Would be entertaining to scare the crap out of people in the grocery store parking lots!

I’ve hauled one open deck load for Uber… went hassle free and paid quick. I check it now and again.

You have probably seen the No Farmers No Food stickers on trucks? Have you ever noticed how many of those trucks have middle eastern looking drivers? There has been a decades long crisis of what you are talking about going on with farmers in India. 1st world companies went in and convinced traditional farmers to switch to megabrand seeds. If a bad yield made them stop buying seed the distributors went after them for seed saving and cross pollination and etc.
Because that culture is so heavy on honor there have been thousands of suicides from poverty or shame or losing lawsuits. On top of possible losses of genetic strains we don't even know about because face it....1 thing to stalk the wild maize in Mexico with a few drug lords. Very different looking for traditional seeds in the middle of their all out culture war....
