I've mentioned this before, but not many responded, so I'm trying again. Does anyone know anything about the old 76 in at the Goodman/Pickens exit in Mississippi off I-55? It was on the east side of the interstate. There was also J's Texaco next door on the same side, which burned back in 2012 or so. I was never there when it was in business, but it's one of the few Union 76 locations no one seems to mention, so I'm curious. It's also possible that it may have been only a 76 fuel vendor, not a corporate location. Thanks everyone, as always!

I’ll ask my uncle about it. He drove for 45yrs and it wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t stop there a time or three.

While they are slightly before my time I do miss the ole Union 76 Truck Stops. Always made my father stop on our family vacations.

still had its own charm and individual personality. And every restaurant had its own local specialities,
such as bison or buffalo in Montana and Idaho, seafood in Florida, and California produce on the West
coast. Now, T/A and Petro have the same boring menu in every location. Don't get me wrong, I
totally understand that Country Pride and Iron Skillet are about the only sit-down restaurant choices
we have left, but still, you would think they could afford to mix it up a bit and offer some ethnic or
local dishes?homeskillet and TheLoadOut Thank this. -

My uncle said he’d seen an old truck stop in that area around ‘83 or ‘84. He doesn’t remember the name of it though.

I dug out my old 76 directory, dated 1988, and dusted it off, no listing for that one. Apparently it was gone by then. The closest was station #720, located 28 miles south of Jackson on U.S. 49 in D'Lo, that ones gone too..

I mentioned, which was closer to the interstate, and the J's Texaco, which was farther to
the east.
