I am in need of a new fan hub and clutch. after replacing the radiator I figured out that the hub bearings have some extra play and need to be replaced before I send the fan thru a brand new rad core. Unfortunately the dealers is play games again and cant figure out what it even has in it. I used my engine serial number and that got me most of my parts but someone has Frankenstein the motor so some parts of the cooling system and intake don't match whats on the truck. I will attach all the pictures I got of part numbers and such.

    Last 6 of VIN 922729
    Engine 11317957

If this is an old truck, have fun. I've been trying to track down a rebuild kit for an old Bendix FD-3 for a week or so now and zero luck yet.

I will also need a stand alone controls for the fan hub since someone welded the other on solid so its always on....... and I believe that is should also be on with the AC to I do have room on the water manifold where the coolant sensor is to add another sensor just haven't found any good kits to use.

Looks to be a Horton but slightly different than the newer style of the 90's. Probably uses the same master kit though. Is there a Fleetpride near you?

I had problems finding a fan for my Detroit. It’s only the most common fan on the most common engine. Parts folks are of no help. Turns out theirs about 15-20 different part #s for the same fan. Even the manufacturer told me it would be special order build. Costing lots of money. Unbelievable. Especially since I’d bought them before. Off the shelf once at Truckpro. Last time I rebuilt it myself, using the kit masters kit posted above. I suggest doing that. I see it’s on a Cummins. First thing to know is if it’s a kaiser or a Horton, whether it engages with air applied, or without air. Next is getting the right kit, or matching it up, by physically looking at the new one. Maybe @Dino soar can help, since it’s on a Cummins

Do you need the actual Fan Hub and clutch itself or do you just need to rebuild it?

The bearings can be replaced along with the kit for the fan clutch if there's no reason to replace the whole thing.

You have a big cam 4 engine. They were low-flow engines. Sounds like someone converted it over to high-flow? If so, that's not a bad thing.

I don't understand what you mean. If that is a Horton fan clutch there should be a bolt that goes in there that locks the assembly together. In situations where the fan clutch won't come on anymore you put a bolt in there and it locks the assembly together so your fan is on all the time. Kysor is the opposite. Kysor requires air to release the fan. If it fails your fan is always on. Horton requires air to engage the fan. If it fails you're fan is always off. Unless you put the bolt in it.

There is not another sensor on the water manifold required for that. There is already a temperature fan control that is in your water manifold but there is a fan switch that's in your dryer receiver that is wired through that fan switch that is in the water manifold.

On hard pulls as your water temperature rises the switch that is in the manifold turns the fan on and off. As you use your air conditioner the switch that is in your receiver drier is a pressure switch and that Cycles the fan on and off. They are two separate things.

Also, some of the Cummins, probably very few of them, they had a hub that really was not a fan clutch it just stayed on all the time. When I was looking for clutch fans for my truck I found a 1990 big Cam that was set up like that which I found surprising, so there must be others.

It's hard to tell from the photos but is that what you have? It looks like that's just a Hub without a clutch assembly.
