I am feeling good. Maybe something really bad was gonna happen, but God saved me with this little trouble

It would really help to know what the other Driver intends to do. As far as your License is concerned, no police report and no ticket usually means no record of it. Laws vary so much by each State. My guess is the worst thing that can happen is his insurance sues your insurance. If he hit the rear of your car, You were first at the intersection. Big grey area. No one can tell you what to do. I use an Insurance agent. Any problem, I ask for their advice. Sometimes a claim isn’t worth filing, due to increased premiums. No accident report, seems to me, it’s open to interpretation. I’ve had fender benders, without a report filed. Local Cops called me in once, chewed me out for not calling them. Me and the other Driver’s Father agreed not to call them. I rear ended him, in a Escort. First day he got his License. He panicked and slammed on his brakes, for no reason. I was in a Semi. I would have Automatically been at fault, and ticketed. Neither one of Us needed a ticket. Cops were angry, but too late to give either of Us a ticket. I don’t even know how they found out about it, except from Tow Truck Company? I worked for a Large Company at the time. They paid to fix the escort. As far as my License, it never went on my record. No police report.

Some positive posters here gave me courage that I shouldn't be worried, because I have insurance. We pay for insurance for such times. It was a bad day. This mistake doesn't make me a bad person. It was just a mistake and I learnt from my mistake. Today I kept working and made sure I slowed down at each intersection whether there was a stop sign or not. Thank you everyone. Tomorrow I will call my insurance and honestly tell them what happened. I own my mistake.
    Thank you again. Good night.

Retain a copy of the PD report for any future employers wondering about this accident showing up on your MVR.

Most insurance companies allow 'one at fault' accident and question anyone with two showing to produce the reports showing fault.

One not at fault out of two and you are still OK depending on your citation history.

If you exchanged information then maybe you have their telephone number, which means maybe you can call and ask their intent, and maybe even offer to pay their repair cost under the table to keep it off the books.

As far as the damage to your car, if you said it was already there before the accident, would anybody have a way to know different? Maybe they feel the same way you do about the damage, not worth fixing, and might just keep your 500 bucks as hush money of sorts.

and if your insurance or theirs reports to the state, as you are supposed to, there will be a report that you don't want to discover during your one shot at the job of your dreams....
