When the business is your lifeline you get that stuff squared away ASAP. Not on the last possible day.

What wasn’t an option? Your state doesn’t do it? They couldn’t find the information? There search didn’t find anything? Did the DMV tell you this is a dealership responsiblity? It may be time to hire legal counsel, that is well versed in vehicle/transportation laws in your state.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

If you file for a replacement title it goes to the last titled owner.

If it was on me they wouldn’t be desperately trying to resolve it. When do people go into a Reputable Dealership and say let me see the title smh ‍♂️. They also sent me a title but it wasn’t original, it was a copy of it. Also if someone get 45 day plates or 30 days it means you have 45 or 30 days to get plates.

Depending on the laws in your state, that last titled owner may be the dealership. That why I said to ‘go to the dmv’ , don’t apply by mail or internet. If your standing at the counter, and the dmv employee tells you the titled owner on file is
    John Doe
    123 Easy St.
    Yourtown,,,,,,

You have a lead on tracking down the title. You have a lot of work to do, both you and the dealership fell down on the job here. It gonna cost time, and money to straighten things out.

Was the dealership selling the truck on consignment? If not, they basically committed some kind of fraud by selling something that they legally did not have out right ownership, or were able to obtain the title from the person or company that put the vehicle in their possession for sale. It would be interesting to see the paperwork they have concerning their purchase or however they acquired the vehicle (trade-in or salvage vehicle maybe?). I doubt they will show you much of anything because they are most likely fully aware that what they have done is more than likely a no-no, and at this point I suspect they are hoping you just go away.

Rideandrepair and old time Thank this.

You saw it as you could wait until the last day and do it. The rest of us see it as you have 45 days to correct any unforseen issues, like this title issue.

When it comes to important stuff like this you've got to be on top of it.

Edit: I'm not trying to be a jerk about this so I apologize if it sounds like it.

Bull####. Dealer should either supply the title, represent the truck as no title, or not sell the truck.

Did you or the dealer pull a Rigdig report on the truck before you bought it?

    Rideandrepair and mnmover Thank this.
