What wasn’t an option? Your state doesn’t do it? They couldn’t find the information? There search didn’t find anything? Did the DMV tell you this is a dealership responsiblity? It may be time to hire legal counsel, that is well versed in vehicle/transportation laws in your state.

If you file for a replacement title it goes to the last titled owner.cke, Rideandrepair, Roger McG and 3 others Thank this. -

Depending on the laws in your state, that last titled owner may be the dealership. That why I said to ‘go to the dmv’ , don’t apply by mail or internet. If your standing at the counter, and the dmv employee tells you the titled owner on file is

You have a lead on tracking down the title. You have a lot of work to do, both you and the dealership fell down on the job here. It gonna cost time, and money to straighten things out.nredfor88, Rideandrepair, GoneButNotForgotten and 1 other person Thank this. -

Was the dealership selling the truck on consignment? If not, they basically committed some kind of fraud by selling something that they legally did not have out right ownership, or were able to obtain the title from the person or company that put the vehicle in their possession for sale. It would be interesting to see the paperwork they have concerning their purchase or however they acquired the vehicle (trade-in or salvage vehicle maybe?). I doubt they will show you much of anything because they are most likely fully aware that what they have done is more than likely a no-no, and at this point I suspect they are hoping you just go away.
Rideandrepair and old time Thank this. -
You saw it as you could wait until the last day and do it. The rest of us see it as you have 45 days to correct any unforseen issues, like this title issue.
When it comes to important stuff like this you've got to be on top of it.
Edit: I'm not trying to be a jerk about this so I apologize if it sounds like it.Last Call, Rideandrepair, MTN Boomer and 1 other person Thank this. -
