Not trying to start a political issue here.......don't want to hear who's fault it is.
But.....I keep hearing about how there are more jobs than there are people willing
    to work.

I live in the Kansas City area. Supposedly there are hundreds of jobs and supposedly
employers are offering better and better pay trying to attract new help. I started
watching pretty close and I don't see it. Only companies that are hiring at record levels
are Amazon and UPS.......both have a pretty poor record and ran off the employees they
    did have.

Fast food places are hiring but I am not seeing any real pay increases...............a few of
the "fancy" places are offering decent wages. But they are requiring several years experience
and even than only offering minor pay increases.

I saw one company several weeks ago that is requiring several years experience and a
Bachelors Degree and for that they were offering 16$ per hour.

Supposedly gas stations are going to run out of gas this holiday weekend because they
can't find truckdrivers to haul gas. Funny thing is I have not seen a single company advertising
for drivers or offering any real pay increases. Some of the companies claim they are buying
new trucks trying to attract drivers but they are buying some of the cheapest, plastic
trucks out there......seems if a company is having trouble hiring good help wouldn't they
    be buying nice trucks?

My question is what are you guys that live in other areas seeing? Maybe I just live
in the wrong area but I am not seeing any real changes in jobs or pay in this area. Guessing
it is a Regional thing.....maybe some area are seeing worker shortages.....doesn't seem to be in
the Midwest. Maybe I don't know where to look but Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Craigslist don't
    seem to be real busy.

I see hiring signs everywhere I go. Gas stations, fast food places, small town repair shops. I've seen McDonald's offering 12 an hour starting pay. All the typical trucking companies are advertising but aren't they always. I'm guessing any of the manufacturing places around here are looking for help, they're generally pretty decent pay soon as you prove you're not entirely a crackpot.

I’m south of Pittsburgh PA. I drive the tri-state area. All manufacturing, trucking, fast food, restaurants, retail even nursing.

Hours have been modified for fast food because they can’t find people. They close indoor dining and just have drive thru. One day only 2 employees were there. It’s sad. Very sad.

Read a report about job interviews that are happening now.
People applying for jobs, don't even know what they're applying for. They ask stupid questions. Instead of asking about the particular job they're applying for, they ask if the company supports LGBT rights and asked about the companies diversity program and what are the percentages of various races within the company. Some ask when they can expect their first pay raise. Those people won't be hired because they'll be troublemakers and complaining constantly and filing lawsuits.

I live in the KC area as well and do a LOT of loads all over the city. The industrial sector up along 435 west and east always have businesses with help wanted signs outside them especially around both kaw valley sand pits. Also saw tons of them on local businesses. Usually its a small sign on the door. Sometimes a billboard and sometimes one of those chalk boards out front.

Many people think companies should also be charitable organizations also. Hire me and pay me more than what I'm worth because I need the money.
The owner of the company has a nice home and new car, so I know the owner can afford to pay the employees $10G more a year.

Wages have gone up around here. But rent has also doubled in the last 4 years.
    Hiring signs are everywhere.
In the main county. Fast food hasn't opened for dine in. In my county. Most are. But naturally. Where I live they're still closed.

There's an article just posted that says 95% plan on quitting. They don't want to commute to work. This past year it's been proven people can work from home. Doesn't hurt my feelings. Accident rate has quadrupled as of late.

I'd prefer the pandemic Starting over again. The empty freeway was nice.

Yeah, rent is going up. People that own rental property are in it for the money. They charge what the market will bear.
Can't blame them at all; they've invested a lot of money and hard work into their rental business and don't owe anyone rent free or discounted accommodations. That's just the cold hard facts of life.

I know a married couple that was struggling, even though they both had full time jobs. Instead of complaining and blaming the government, they both started driving for Uber & Lyft at the same time. They would get off work; go home and eat, then hit the streets with both Uber & Lyft apps. in both cars. Now they own a beautiful home in a upper-middle class neighborhood.
