For someone who espouses the individual not acting for confirmation by ones peers why does individual glory have such great importance? Or somehow one ought to disregard the current opinion of the masses while striving to be held in some specific public opinion in the future? That's kinda problematic logically LOL
My original point was only that we as a species have a cooperative social aspect. My follow up point was hoping to highlight that one of the defining characteristic of humans vs other social species is our additional abilities in abstract thought like the zero and our ability to plan and coordinate huge and lasting undertakings far beyond say...ants and wolves.
This isn't a value judgement. 'Progress' might be our destruction and you could be right about devolution LOL. But be consistent - you can't value glory without the context of society and it's judgement
