I can't even recall how many times I had to include on a blueprint showing a hole with the nut tacked on but located where I knew it would be easier for the field guys to locate it on site...but no welder out there. This technology would allow them to locate and drill in the field if the plate thickness allowed drilling....

Time to make some noise. Chop some metal, weld some stuff. Good times.

I've never had to install hucks. Cut a lot off on frames and then usually just used a regular grade 8 bolt in its place.singlescrewshaker, cke, Brettj3876 and 4 others Thank this. -
I would have wanted to see diagonal stripes up and down the hill. But it looks ok!singlescrewshaker, cke, shooter19802003 and 3 others Thank this. -
The cost of maintenance and repairs is one of the reasons I preferred being a company driver...
I know, I know that was not all... there were other reasons also but if I found a "good" company, most of my headaches would be eliminated... So far I was "lucky" with my choices...
Nowadays I am sure I would not be an O/O... not only because of the cost but also all the regulations, and my inability to handle all that is necessary, the business aspect, the paperwork... besides, I believe that not very far in the future, technology will make this job so much different... not pleasant as it used to be... Actually, it already is much different than what was when I started in 2007... No more joy, no freedom, more stress, less respect, more idiot, inconsiderate drivers out there, less parking, more freakin technology increasing distraction and affecting safety...
I didn't mention other factors happening in the country not related to trucking but that affect truck driving and will affect even more all truckers in America in the near future.singlescrewshaker, cke, shooter19802003 and 4 others Thank this. -
Today my friends pick me up and brought me to their shop at the mall. I wanted to spend the day with them. Even if I had to stay in this mall all day... They have a shop here and will be working all day like they do everyday...

Yippee a weekend at a truckstop in Alabama lol. Yes sarcasm. Not even in your own truck....
Is it fun yet? Did you do your laundry? How much longer do you sit? You're probably playing video games and watching movies to pass the time...singlescrewshaker, cke, Eldiablo and 2 others Thank this. -
What I lack is some of the tools required, one instance being stuff to do wheel end work. No air compressor, no jack, no good jack stands, etc. I don't have the room in my garage for any of that. I live in town and I'm just fortunate enough to have a large enough driveway that I can back my bobtail in and not have it be in the way.
One of the reasons I'm itching to get out of town and on to some land where I can have a proper shop.singlescrewshaker, clausland, Tug Toy and 6 others Thank this. -
Sarcasm noted!
Actually yes my laundry is done!
Cleaned and reorganized my bunk, threw out the truck trash.
I can't get a good enough WiFi signal to even get through the training videos I can do to still get paid for the day. Even the paid connection is junk for the videos.
Fun? No. But it's what I expected. I believe my trainer is gonna come get me to a seafood joint tonight so that is a good thing.
Keep trucking.singlescrewshaker, cke, Eldiablo and 4 others Thank this.
