Probably turn out just find. The other companies Knight-Swift purchased are doing just fine.
Swift and Abilene Motor Express are flourishing.

Same with Barr Nunn. They still operate as their own entity. Drivers from each company can't even go to each other's terminals.

I have been lead to believe that making a profit is the point in buying/starting a business. Maybe I'm wrong?

Your not wrong. But also if your company shows low profit margins you just go out and buy a profitable company to raise yours. Then depreciate purchase price, suck any and all cash backout, skimp on truck and trailer replacement, pull back wages and benefits. Then when you bleed it dry sell off for a loss and deduct your loss.

When has a mega fleet buy out ever been with good intentions?

They bought it for a avenue of revenue, just not you or I would.

    cabwrecker and Team818 Thank this.
