Good for you! That's beside the point...I was reflecting on the phenomena of relativity.

I think the average is already above $3.00. The local Loves is $3.34 and the cheapest diesel I know of is $2.99 a gallon. It keeps going up. Unfortunately my dedicated haul doesn’t or hasn’t yet anyway.

Most people have access to a fuel discount program. That's the number I am referring to. Pump list price, is at 3.50 average

Evidently you missed your Econ. Class when they were teaching about Hyper Inflation.... you were probably at home that day counting the change in your piggy bank hoping you had enough to buy the new Mario Bros. video game... Iam not gonna try to teach it all to you in this thread because you wouldn't catch on anyhow with your thought process
So I will just wait it out for a year or 2 and wait for Your thread to appear on here about how the price of a new tire is 950.00 each and a gal of engine oil is 65.00 a gal. And how your loosing your #$$ Because theres no freight moving at your ever so satisfying freight rates your happy with.. because the economy is in the $#@@&

You can mitigate the price increase with fuel cards that offer discounts. Mine is Fleet One Edge - a poorer dressed sister of NASTC. Still, on some fuel stop places it is more than 50 c per gallon...e.g. Sunoco on Indiana I-80 turnpike - I think it was Elkhart service plaza.

OK. You wait and see my thread when I say my revenue reached $500 000 in the midst of 3 quarter, right at the time when I spend $950 per tire.
    This is hyperinflation.
That's my little economics lesson for you.

As long as you and the likes of you sit at home and wait...

Canada. $1.35ish per litre. Works out to around $4 per US gal with exhange rate.

The highest I remember to have paid for was about $4.5 in Midwest. Surprisingly, everybody was running as usual except less o/o trucks roaming over 80 mph on I-80 in Nebraska. I don't know about the rates back then (when was it 2009 - 2011) as I was a company driver but lots of folks bought their first trucks or bought more additional trucks.

If you are getting the fuel surcharge, it doesn't matter. The truckers like Rutherford love high fuel prices, they get fuel surcharge. They also get high fuel mileage, some were claiming 10 mpg
