I hauled cows in the 90's for awhile and I can tell ya that at some of the stockyards I went to you would see solo bull haulers sitting around just tweaking lol. they were so hyped up from whatever they were doing that you could barely have a conversation with them. I ran with my best friend and his cousins and we ran teams. 5 hours in the seat and 5hours in the sleeper till we got there. leave the cruise on and just swap seats. most we drank was mountain dew.

Good grief I suppose you don’t have to wonder too much how you’re going to die.

A bull hauler and chicken hauler are racing each other down the road in the middle of the night. They blow the doors off Swift who gets on the radio and says he'd sure like to know what it's like to go that fast one day. So the bull hauler says stop on the next ramp, I'll hook a chain up to you and you can see what it's like. He tells Swift that if he gets scared, just flash the headlights and he'll stop.

They're going down the road and a chicken hauler starts to pass them. Bull hauler thinks he can't let this happen and he puts the pedal down and off they go again. They fly by Smokey who looks up but decides he isn't bothering with it today.

Smokey is having breakfast with with a couple colleagues at the diner and says, "You know, I saw the strangest thing last night." The other officer asks what it was. He says, "Well there was a chicken hauler and bull hauler racing each other." The other officer asks what strange about that since it's pretty common. He says, "The crazy thing is Swift was riding their tail flashing their lights telling them to get out of the way!"

I ran with a group of people for little bit that was going from NW il to ky then picking up another load NE of Indianapolis heading to IL and Repeating 5-6 times a week and them guys would run 3-4 deep going 80+ non stop.

Edit: I think we was getting around 3.5 - 4.5 mpg
