I will do that when I get there. We aren't going to be there until this June or July when we arrive in Franklin, NC. I hope they are still open for business. At the rate TA is going they might all be closed soon.

Always good to hear from you. The reason I posted this was after spending a long time here at the winter home because of Covid, the wife and I are off from May-Nov. in the 5th wheel. We are travelling from Fla. to Ala., Tenn.,Va., NC, SC and back home and haven't been to Candler in a good many years. I'm still trying to visit as many of the old TA's with Country Prides as we can before TA pulls the plug on them all. It's just an old habit to eat at these after my 45 years on the road before retirement.
We went to Clarksville, Tn. a few weeks ago to help our daughter and son-in-law move to Maryland after he retired from the US Army after 21 years and a Blackhawk pilot and we stopped at a few TA/Petro's on the trip. My favorite Petro, White's, had the Iron Skillet closed for dinner and the Country Pride at the TA's in Marianna, Fla., Wytheville, Va. and Richmond, Va. were all closed and empty. It's crazy that some are open and most are closed. If they are going to go ahead with the lease to IHOP nationwide I wish that they would just do it.
That's all my friend so stay safe and always be careful. -
I forgot to reply to you after we made the stop at Candler a couple weeks ago. I totally enjoyed the trip there and we were there about 1:00PM for lunch. We had no problem getting the 5th wheel into the almost empty truck parking area and the front row which made for an easy out. The atmosphere and interior just reminded me of those "old days". I always have a liking to the old truck stops and not the newer travel centers of today. Just recently learned that Whites great Petro in Raphine, Va. has closed and gutted the Iron Skillet restaurant. I was hoping for at least an IHOP like the other corporate stops are going to but they are advertising on their web page that a new drivers lounge and store are planned. Oak Grove Petro has also closed their Iron Skillet for expanded store space. So sad. -
