What a cheap job they did on those flagstone crates . Make ya nervous going down the road ? The place i load that at , atleast they build a whole crate around it. But ive still seen them break more than once. Not my favorite stuff to haul

Ya that metal banding makes me nervous. But idk, u do what u can. I think id throw some 2 inchers around each pallet just to be safe . That flagstone cuts straps real easy tho even with edge protection. Just a pita to haul

Could even put 2 straps on each pallet. Strap on the back pulling forward and strap on front pulling backward. Just up higher so it sits up near the metal banding...seen it hauled alot of different ways. They should really spend the extra 3 dollars on lumber and build a whole crate to make it safer for the driver..

This weeks horrid contribution. The first load Ive had to tarp over here.

    CNC machine, 15'2" tall 11'8"wide 92k gross
5 tarps,,, would have been 4 had not one actually been a 4ft drop, and one of the 8fts shreaded. Yeah,,, ive already had the discussion about getting tarps more suited for insanity like this.

Me "I've never even used your tarps how big are they?"
    Dispatch "two should do"
Me "yeah we need more tarps"
Dispatch "wow thats bigger than normal"

So i found another of our drivers, took thier tarps and went to town quilting this monstrosity together. With incresingly less effort under the 100 degree sun.

Headed to MN, not far from Albert Lea.

Yeah I'll definitely be glad to get back to running things that don't need tarps. Not looking forward to tarping something that large ever again, unless I have something that fits a little better. Then again I do suppose there aren't many things that would fit something that size. But TJP who loaded next to me had some machine tarps that fit like a glove. I suppose they do those a lot tho. Granted he also lucked out and was a shade smaller.

Which apparently I am supposed to pick up some sort of cat afterwards at Illinois sometime somewhere.
