I have a standard size push broom. With a little bit of wiggling I get it in there. Another option is unscrew the handle from the broom. But make sure you buy a good one if you are going to do that, so the threads are less likely to get stripped.

Taking the handle off is my plan if I can't find a way to keep it on the back of the sleeper, I don't think I'd have room to put it in the side box.

Started the day off hitting myself in the face with my own hammer at 530 am. Followed by helping another Millis driver restack a pallet that fell off his truck at 6 am. Then around 10:30 am pulled/strained tendons in hand/wrist by just opening my door.

That story reminded me of something. Ran a John Deere multi stop load ending in New York a while back, and had to get my pry bar to pull some nails out of the trailer floor. One of those nails shot up and stuck me about a half inch from my eyeball - penetrated the skin and drew blood! It's like when you squeeze an ice cube with your fingers to get it to shoot out a few feet, that's what the wood in the floor was doing with these nails. I had several more of them do that as well, but I fetched my safety glasses after that first one and was keeping my face back. It was a completely unexpected and odd thing for that to happen, so beware when pulling those nails out if you ever need to do it.

And of those companies seemed to say "hold my beer, we can do worse" today. Makes me wish I was still doing marketing research like I was years ago and every purchase was recorded and analyzed.

Is there another shortage of empty trailers? The last couple of loads I've had should have been drop and hook but turned into live loads due to a lack of empty trailers.

Until they are done with working on 294, I have been taking 80 to 355 to 290 to 90 to get to western Wisconsin. Seems to be working out so much better then dealing with that mess.
