so you'd get all 1/2" stuff? or i guess at least 4 of them 1/2" right

 

I’d probably do 4 5’ and 4 10’ 1/2” chains with a slip hook on one end and a grab hook on the other. And a few 3/8 chains also. That’s If your doing roll on roll of freight. If your doing factory machines, big crates, ect you will probably need some longer chains.

Variety is the spice of life! Actually it’s nice to have options. Your grab hook won’t always fit over or through a securement point. The slip hook, or even better (and more expensive) a foundry hook, can make tying something down much easier.

And some times those holes are just large enough for a chain link to slip through. Carry extra cotter keys.

Having plenty of securement and load protection options is the end goal.
