People don’t know how to manage their bank accounts..too many folks want to soend more than they make and buy crap they dont need..in stead of outting needs before wants, they out wants before needs..why do you think inflation is out of control??…it’s real easy…people need to stop spending more than they make..i have seen it first hand many times and I don’t feel sorry for folks like that.

I don't think coddling is the answer by a long shot. I'm not saying that's the answer. I agree people should do what's necessary. All I'm saying is if jobs paid more, and I am not saying make people rich, just a reasonable amount, then that solves the issue of the government having to bail out people.
Those people I'm talking about can't afford to live above their means. Its actually the people who make decent money who go above their means. Many of them are in our industry. They see 1000 dollars a week, and they think they've arrived. It's enough to make a living but not enough to be reckless.

I was talking to someone I know today and this persons wife’s daughter was complaining about money this and money that. That they didn’t have enough money to start a bank account for the toddlers future, blah blah. So, they do work, I’ll give them that. But, they live in a house owned by this person rent free, and also now have a nice car since the wife got a new one. Well, my friend says hey during tax time or the next stimulus check you get, if you put up $500 to start a fund, I’ll match the $500 and the toddler will have a very nice investment started for its future.

Well, tax time comes, stim checks come... crickets... never took him up on the offer. But, did manage to go on a fancy vacation.

People just like to complain and be victims. Now Biden is sending out $300 per month per child and I bet people like this will still be dead broke. The complaining won’t stop tho!

See those are the ones who I criticize. They have a supporting cast and people who will help them, and they evidently make decent coin. Those types of folks live above their means. I more feel sympathy for those who lack help/funds for childcare, or those who really can't maneuver like they want to because of no help. They have to take whatever job and do what they can, even if its paycheck to paycheck.

I get that but there is a lot of help out there nowadays. Like a LOT. I think 95% of people stay broke because it’s their habits, not because of lack of opportunity. The ones that truly need help, can get it if they want it.

The private school my son just started preschool with. It’s like 6k per year but if you make under a certain amount it’s like 3 to 600 per year. They also have early arrival and late pickups, which are also subsidized. And the amounts you can make up to are significant. Like low 6 figures with one child.

Especially with a tight labor market right now, and all the free stimulus and now monthly checks for kids, it’s easier then ever to get ahead.

Edit: Not to mention essentially free health care. Poor people have it far far easier to have healthcare than middle class people.

There is some help and I can concede that. I don't know that all or even 95 percent of people stay broke because of their habits though. That seems like such a high number when everyone has a different path in life. Many people definitely do, but I don't know if I can confidently paint everyone with one brush. There are a lot of things that derail someone's money, and it ain't solely indulgences.

During Hurricane katrina i saw folks who were staying at a local motel and for a while i felt bad for them but few hours later i saw them coming back after shopping with several large macy’s & dillard’s bags, now if they are so limited in their income because they evacuated from a hurricane zone you would think they would go somewhere and try to get the most for their money to get clothes for everybody that they need but shopping at those two stores which by the way are two of the most expensive stores in the country showed me that they obviously don’t know the meaning of fiscal responsibility…at that point, i no longer even cared..

Its literally never been easier in history to be poor. Today’s struggles are such a cake walk for the people of past decades.

Subsidized housing, subsidized insurance, free phone, free internet. Free random and now monthly checks. Can’t get evicted. Federal unemployment on top of state unemployment. Subsidized school and child care.

All you have to do to make more money is have more kids.

Im actually an extremely compassionate person but I don’t like excuses. I grew up middle class but was on my own when I left the nest after HS. Therefore, I was very poor for several years and I don’t want to hear the excuses. If I had all the help people have today it would have been easy street. In fact, I’d venture to say so easy that I may not have developed the ability to rise up and get ahead in life. Probably just set the cruise and chill.

Oh I forgot, subsidized food via food stamps too. lol.

Well we don't know how they got the funds...it could have been loaned. They could have applied for one of those high interest credit cards those stores offer. A family member could bought that stuff. Perception is reality true enough, but we can't really count people's pockets because we don't know the story.
