Lol as a resident of Memphis, and its quite poor there, many folks have all those bennies. They can't always get that stuff that easily. They have to show that they're working or trying to find work. Those folks while they have the benefits, I promise you, they are not living the American dream by a longshot. With Gov't aid, you ain't getting anywhere close to the best maintained housing or any of the best aforementioned stuff. Even the health insurance can be sub par, unless you're healthy. Lord help a parent that has a child with issues. The state can be ruthless with that insurance. Up until covid, many folks couldn't even get enough stamps there to last. You either have to work less or have more kids as you said. With that type of system it's no way any of those folks are getting ahead. Some do slip through the cracks, but the majority won't. They don't make enough to meet their obligations so they have to get that aid, and still really doesn't vault them that much higher. Folks have to get school uniform assistance, free lunches, supplies assistance, etc. Its not that they don't try, but when these folks have mouths to feed, they caught up in a cycle that's impossible to get out of, and I don't know what the solution is. Employers ain't going to pay more, and the government really can't force them to. Not everyone will be able to make 50k or better yearly. You can't stop people from making babies, this one is tough. Many of these benefits ain't going to last forever, and I'm speaking as if they don't exist now.

I do appreciate the insight. I still have a hard time with it. I still drive a passenger vehicle that’s 20 yrs old. Half the clothes I’m wearing I’ve had 10 to 20 yrs. I could go on and on but it’s just old habits die hard. I still live like I’m poor but that’s why I’m not poor anymore. ;)

I notice a lot of poor people live like they’re not, which is why they’re still poor. IMO.

You've done well brother. I definitely respect that. I only buy cash cars, and I couldn't tell you the last time I went clothes shopping myself. I have a lot of obligations so I go without the "finer things" so my kids won't have to go without getting their needs and some wants met. I'm far from rich but it does take some sacrifice. I won't count their pockets and speculate because you never the true story. You have those people that make decent coin, enough to make it but man can they wield a credit card! I don't discount your observations because it is true. People don't have it like that, and get payday loans or credit cards and rack debt. Some, because it's the only way to eat. Others, it's all about "stuff."

Courts have already ruled vaccine mandates are legal. The Supreme Court has said they will not take up the case. Also some states have said you will not qualify for unemployment for refusing. Im not saying I agree, just stating what’s out there.

You can't promote everything free. Just come on in sit down fill out this form, we will call you when you need to come back "if" there are any issues. Otherwise you will be getting "ebt" card in the mail. Use that to buy food, we will notify your landlord that you are not to be evicted, you pay zero for medical, medication, weed, internet, utilities, and we will also mail you a booden cellphone. You use that to stay in touch with us here, and look for a job, wink wink. Isn't that "special"? You little bozo. Now how many children do you Joy want have, oh no thats not enough. Lets try for 8.

When the settlers arrived from Europe they had to feed their own children. Build their own homes, make their own clothes. Just saying... and furthermore, their are Jobs, but you can't sit in memphis and wait for one. You have to move forward. Leave messphis behind, its a loser. My goodness, folks, free everythings is NOT going to work. Ask messphis.

End of this edition of mornings with team818. Have a wonderful day. If you are on your 34, enjoy. Bye now.

Not saying that I agree with the people living on welfare instead of using it for what it's meant.

But to compare it to settlers is a bad example. Because the last time I checked. You can't hunt animals for food in the majority of cities. Build your own house for free...etc. There really wasn't a cost for the majority of the things needed. Were now everything has a cost.

Ain't none of those people ever said things needed to be free. Any person who has a heartbeat knows things come at a price. Where so many of you get it wrong is thinking folks want free everything. All people want is for the cost of living to match their paychecks. People have more obligations than they do income in a lot of cases. You say leave Memphis behind. Why should they? If I leave Memphis right now, it doesn't really get any better. My life will be exactly the same wherever I go because I'll have the same obligations. I still have provide for my wife and our 3. Not to mention 3 more kids outside of our household. The poor do try their best, given their circumstances. It just isn't enough, it ain't always though their own faults. Not everyone is going to be able to be at the top, and everything will never be free, even if society goes socialist. That money to fund a socialist society comes from somewhere.....anyway, the point is, it should be this expensive to eat and to have adequate housing.

Everything has a cost, and it is expensive as hell!!! Very few places are paying workers well enough in which it lines up with costs to live.

There are quite a bit of people in this country that believe that they shouldn’t have to pay for anything and that it should be given…robbing peter to pay paul is not a very wise thing to do as many can’t seem to comprehend that is how it works when the freeloaders want a free ride..someone is paying for it…

If the lowest paid person made as much as cost of living, then costs would just continue to climb. It’s why we have crazy inflation right now. Because it pays 45k to not work this past year. Everybody has money to blow and they do, because their piss poor habits are to spend what they have. Again, it’s why they don’t have anything but some material bs that has no real value other then making them feel good temporarily.

There is no utopian place where everything lines up. It doesn’t exist and never will.
