    I've spent money to have good authentic Boudin overnighter to Colorado. If you can't taste the Pecan smoke it isn't right, IMO at least.
    Made the mistake once of using imitation crab in my gumbo, I deserved to be beaten to death with moldy celery stalks for that transgression. When I bought it I'd been looking at 1 package and grabbed the other. Not only did it taste horrible, it uncoiled and had the texture of cooked rubber.

    Thought you’d like that!! My wife’s half Hungarian and half Irish. Occasionally we get Hungarian sausage. Don’t know what’s in it. But it’s delicious. My spellcheck is suspect.

    Kids... Cartoons? Ever listen to a radio? I mean a kind of square box, in the house, sitting on a table, plugged in and a little 20 inch piece of wire for antenna. If you were out so far they piped daylight in, you could run a clothesline wire out to a tree in addition to get better reception. Tricky though, with the lightening strikes. That is if you were "on the electric". Battery optional.
    Man, we got the Tom Mix Show. Cowboy style sponsored by Ralston Purina then. Had a theme song based on one product.

    S h r e d d e d Ralston, for your breakfast, Start the day off shiny bright;
    Take a tip from Tom, go and tell your Mom, Shredded Ralston can't be beat.

    Then there was The Shadow... Creepy.. Lamont Cranston was the MC. Years ago; in the Orient, the Shadow had learned to cloud men's minds so they could not see him... Intro was:
    Who knows, what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
    (Ya reckon @Dave_in_ AZ might be related and inherited the laugh)

    Not old enough to have enjoyed those original broadcasts, but I do enjoy listening to Radio Classics on XM. My favorites are Suspense and Johnny Dollar, the insurance investigator with the action packed expenses account.

    I can't shake the feeling you're gonna come in the door, and Vic is gonna be wearing sweatpants and a bathrobe, she's sprawled out on the recliner in front of the tv, a stack of chick flicks in the DVD player, a delivery pizza in her lap and a box of the "good chocolate that she hides from you" on the side table, then you're gonna walk in with "SURPRISE, BABY".......

    .......and SHE'S gonna say, "WTF ARE YOU DOING HERE? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE IN CALIFORNIA!!!!!"

    Wasted Thyme, Bud A., DrFlush and 10 others Thank this.
