Oregon and Washington get their power from the Columbia River, also most of ID. Wyoming coal feeds Wy, UT, NV, and eastern CA. It has been this way since the 1960's...my family (mother's side) owned Ely Light and Power.... Kennecott Copper in McGill got it's power through a direct feed line out of SLC which continues down to eastern and central NV and Bishop/Mammoth in CA. Western NV and northern CA also serve from OR.
