We do a lot of stuff different out this way.

Hard freezes are not common. Foundations tend to be not very deep cause we don't get the frost heaves.

Vent tubes and valves should not freeze. It also doesn't get cold enough to freeze/kill off the nesting bugs or other human riff raff that are the bigger concern

If in doubt about the propane tank put a shed over/around it. The delivery guy may actually appreciate it. Just got to keep the Vermin and squatters out.

When the wife and I moved to where we are now. The forrestry department visited us and said the setback of combustibles is 25 feet. Good luck with that 10 feet,

Sheesh a firefighter using the wrong terms on propane tanks. Propane tanks wont explode (correct). Propane tanks will bleve.

Unfortunately, I have just set a record for waiting at the Blue...1 hour and still two trucks in front of me.

That's not a record. Did 3 hours for a required Washout near Ann Arbor, MI.

The rule of thumb in fire line construction is the line needs to be at least 3 times as wide as the height of the fuel. That grass/weed is approximately 2-3 ft tall...10 ft. fire barrier is sufficient. Trust me, I know my firefighting procedures and ordinances...it was my chosen field for many years.

Actually "BLEVE' is an accronym for "boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion"
