I've been looking at all the different centrifuge options,spinner,dieselcraft,pa biodiesel and others.And I was thinking why could you not buy one of the 55 or 60 gal per hour waist veg oil centrifuge and mount it directly on top of the valve cover.You would have one oilline to run the centrifuge and drill 4 holes to mount and 1 larger hole in the center for the oil to return with a gasket in between.You might have to clean it every month or so with the 12oz drum capacity.But you can buy these centrifuges for about $125.What am I missing?Just a thought.

I bought a Spinner 2 about 70 days ago and have about 24,000 miles on it so far. My first oil sample came back with 0.0 for soot and all my metals were at least 10 points lower. I pulled the spinner apart after 10,000 miles just to see what I was catching and was I ever surprised. My motor has always had clean oil samples, but with only 10,000 miles (spinner and new oil) I had a little more than a 1/8" of sludge on the walls. Personally I don't think I would like the idea of more oil draining on top of the valvetrain. Yeah you would get a little more lube protection, but think of all the extra oil that would be flung around and sent out the breather tube. Also there would be a slight power loss from all the extra oil windage. This would be very small and not noticeable unless on a dyno.

I would go with the same spinner as pulling trucker and hook it up as per the instructions.

Thks Pullingtrucker.No doubt the spinner is a good unit.Glad to see it's doing a great job.I'm always trying to think outside the box(lol)and was just trying to get some pros and cons from some of the folks on here who's opinion I really trust,and helps me be more profitable.Thk again

Acgo Sisu uses a spinner filter on their combine engines. and they do help. After running 100 hrs the oil used to be black as coal, and much thicker. Several dealers had engines that needed to be flushed to get all the contamination out of the oil pan.
Their system mounts of the side of head and is monted directly to head, not valve cover. So far the oil is still black, but the oil anaysis shows 65% less soot. in 100 hrs.
Its not the same application as a OTR truck but thats my experience with these filters. They do work and I think they are worth the money.oneshot Thanks this. -
Here are a few pics of the debris I cleaned out of my Spinner 2 after about 27,500 on the oil, CAT Hi-efficency filter, and Spinner 2. The crude was about a 1/4" thick and the bowl was caked from top to bottom with it. Matter of fact even the "roof" of the canister was coated pretty good. After seeing this I will never run a truck motor with out a spinner. Heck I would thinnk twice about even running a canister type bypass system just for the fact if the element tears the debri can get back into the oil.

Just got my spinner on and looking forward to see how well it works.All comments have been positive on the spinner.And maybe I'll find a Quarter when I clean mine out.

I've been running a Spinner for about a year, I do an oil analysis every 10,000 miles and my oil change interval is now 40,000 miles.
They tell me I can run it longer but I just can't bring myself to do it.
Like was said before, I will never run a truck without one again! -
How does it handle getting water and anit-freeze out? Was there an improvement for those item on your oil analysis? Usually those are absorbed by the filter elements so I still have reservations considering the negative effects of even small amounts of anti-freeze on bearings.
