I hate to see this happen to their drivers particularly this close to Christmas...
That being said, It is in my opinion a good thing that this bottom feeder flatbed company is gone!
It would not bother me a bit to see TMC and Maverick and some of the other "bottom feeder" flatbed companies go away!
All these companies do is push flatbed rates down and screw it up for everyone including themselves. They also flood the industry with poorly trained flatbedders!
Before you get upset I'll qualify that by saying that there are exceptions and they do occasionally put out a decent flatbed driver...But those few would have been fine anyway had they gotten into flatbedding by another route.
Once again, I hate to see this happen to their drivers but as far as these rate cutting ####### companies go....GOOD RIDDANCE!2fuzy, Crotts Trucking and Les2 Thank this. -
im with ya w9.....i wouldnt mind seeing some of the mega- box carriers gone either.....but i would hope they would route the drivers home, instead of leaving them high and dry

Happened in 1999 I think with Preston 351 or something like that.

For me, it is a "but for the grace of God go I" or more accurately..
But for the grace of God and advice from the truckers report go I...
I have stayed away from the big bottom feeder companies... However, I did apply to this one and got an offer and considered it... but, fortunately I opted out... However my fellow student didn't and got stranded miles and miles from home with only a few dollars on him, his trainer was not in much better shape...
It is just wrong for the company to do that to it's drivers... They ha to know they were going down before they hired him and while he was in orientation along with others... -
was heading west on 12 out of hammond a lil bit ago and a couple arrow trucks running together. all i was hearing on the radio was how bad other drivers felt for them, if they were needing rides, and if they were hungry since they probably havent been paid in awhile.
Hillbilly Highway and SuchatruckinLady Thank this. -
A good friend of mine went to work for them in 2006 and left in 2008, When he left he told me that he didn't see how they could stay in business bacause they were so ###### up.
I have thought for quite a few years that they were on the way out.... -

I agree with you BlackW900...
TMC and a few others were always recruiting at our school... All my other classmates signed with a big company right out of school... and all have had struggles...
I remember when I said I wanted to get on with a smaller company... the school and recruiters told me that smaller cmpanies wouldn't pay me as well and have all the benefits that the "training" companies offer... So for a few months my class mates had great insurance, 401k's and bla bla bla.... but they all had problems and trouble with those companies.... except for one guy who is doing well so far with werner.
