Now, as for the Arrow drivers, my heart goes out to you and your familes. It's a terrible thing to lose your job and but even worse the way it has went down. There is a special place in hell for the owner(s) or Arrow. -

PLEASE don't turn this thread into a pissing match folks.
bullhaulerswife, Hillbilly Highway and GuysLady Thank this. -
I'm an old hard nosed kind of guy. I believe in doing this the old fashioned way and I don't really like the CDL mill school thing that's going on these days.
Some decent drivers come out of those schools but for the most part they pump out a bunch of useless dead weight that puts a downward drag on this whole industry.
You and a few others on this board seem to "get it" but on any given day you can read numerous posts from people that obviously have no business in this business!
These companies are for the most part being run by second and third generation family members and the "truckers" that started them are long dead or retired.
Do you think Chester England ever intended that his company would turn out to be the JOKE that it is today?
Of course not!
His kids and grandkids have wrecked the company and turned it into the embarrassment that it is now...It's much the same with all of these large companies that are either in the hands of the children/grandchildren of the originals or have been sold off to some corprate giant that has no interest in the traditions of the industry but instead drags them down until they are little more than "Sweatshops on Wheels"
It is far better in times like these to work for an owner operator or a small mom and pop outfit that cares about their business and knows that their existince depend on the people that they have in their trucks.Mastertech Thanks this. -
Mastertech, Hillbilly Highway and mustang970 Thank this.

I had an Arrow truck pass me today going about 70 loaded with lumber. I know their trucks were set about 65 or lower. This was before I heard the news on the radio or else I would have tried to raise him on the CB to see what he was up to. He was in a hurry to get somewhere.

When it comes to the owner of this company, I hope the fleas of a thousand camels infest his crotch!! And he has no access to anything to get rid of them!
CommDriver, misterG, Hillbilly Highway and 3 others Thank this. -
James Pielsticker, who was the owner, died in a small plane crash back in 2001. I don't know if his kids took over or if that had anything to do with them going downhill.

found this news site about arrow, http://www.kjrh.com/news/local/story/arrow-trucking-shuts-down/_5PiaF1oxECj8IZJuX696w.cspx
but found the ending to be pretty cool,
"
Keath Storm with LinkAmerica Trucking says his company is reaching out to Arrow Employees, to see if it can hire some, or even help to place others elsewhere.
"If there's anything whatsoever that we can do help them, we would like to too," said Storm. "Driver qualifications are different for every company, so we won't be able to help all drivers. But we have a great network in the trucking industry. So those who we can't personally help, I am going to make phone calls to other trucking companies."
LinkAmerica says it's drivers may also be able to bring some of those stranded truckers home.GuysLady Thanks this. -
