FYI--A part time job elsewhere , if employed at most driving job outfits, is a big NO NO !! Must be insurance reasons.....

It's because it screws up your HOS. If you work part time it's considered by the industry as on duty not driving and it counts towards your 70 hour rule.

depending on your situation and state you live in you may owe taxes on the per diem .... some states do not allow the transportation deduction allowed on federal taxes ... so as a result the tax free per diem amount you must pay taxes on .... there is a chart in the drg that shows the states and says consult your tax advisor ... also depending on other investments and such you may have, you could end up owing on the federal return also (which is my case) .... I used to use the transportation deduction to offset my other investments ....

I didn't notice this until I went back and looked. Perhaps you didn't notice the short haul pay? You should be receiving an extra $20 on these runs; $40 if one or more live loads were involved. They're actually the best runs as long as you can keep doing them steadily.

grc 56 dont think your being singled out, im in the home time fleet and rarely get a pre-plan. team roehl planners like to wait till your empty then shoot from the hip to try to get ya a load.
also been a lot of waiting between loads, I know its the slow season, but heck this has been giong on since before august, and i know miles have been lean for every one. I want to take this time wish every one a merry christmas and a happy new year!

Yep, waiting for that movie to hit the discount racks. Check it, I don't think they are talking about chicken. Beef or pork?
