12.01 I was gone…….Bud A., Speed_Drums, D.Tibbitt and 4 others Thank this. -
I escaped from Commie Annex East in the wee hours, while the indigenous population slept.
I was told yesterday to drop and hook in Dayton and run a load up to our Major National Brand ketchup plant 3 hours north, for 7am.
"Ain't happening. I'm still in NY."
"Okay. How bout 1000?"
"How bout noon?"
"Okay".
I got here at 1430. Effem.
The corn syrup inlet is covered in bees and hornets, as is any exposed puddle of syrup on the ground. (Just small ones here and there, fortunately.)
I find it interesting that although it's been unseasonably hot, the bees know it's almost September, and they need to get busy sucking up all this corn syrup. "It's easier to find than flower nectar, and it's just lying around in puddles, dude!"
It started taining, then abruptly stopped.
I'll bet it's ugly af out there, and soon I gotta go check on things back there.
I'll run outta hours up here, but I can sleep in a bit and still get a 34 in, before bouncing back out Monday on the Triangle Of Pain. Again.
I've had a sinus headache all day that just won't QUIT!! I'm poppin' sinus pills like tic-tacs, with only short-lived relief.
Today's 14-hr saga ain't helpin, either.
I hope Chester's Chicken is still open by the time I reach the little truckstop nearby......Bud A., austinmike, D.Tibbitt and 6 others Thank this. -
Well I offered to the neighbor that I would help her with her Kubota that has a flat tire. Told her I would come by with my mowing trailer. Remove the tire, roll it onto the trailer, secure it, and haul it to town for repairs. 2 days ago I agreed to do the job. Her 14 year old son had agreed to inflate the tire and to have the tractor jacked up so I could unbolt the rim and load the tire. 3 hours ago the mother realized he had only agreed to the above.
When I worked at the tire shop it only took me at the most 5 mins to jack and inflate a tire. At 430 this afternoon it will be too late to get anything done. 1/2 hour to drive to town and shop closes at 5. Her son is supposedly still working at it. He supposedly started to work on it at noon. She said he is out there doing something (like he is working on it) with the tire.Bud A., austinmike, homeskillet and 8 others Thank this. -
