Big storm brewing to the west of Kansas. They say western kansas may get hit, not sure about us maybe rain and freezing drizzle. I-70 from salina west may get bad.
Finished hauling contract beans may have some wheat next week. Talked to friend today who hauls lot of DDG. He said he's been busy with that but rates were bad to get him to the DDG. Think he said making 95 cents to get to his other loads. Hope DDG pays good for averaging purposes. -
wheathauler Thanks this.

There's some around here. The biggest feedlots are in western kansas. Most DDG is handled by commercial truckers & brokers around here. Some farmers haul the wet stuff for themselves and neighbors. They probably haul the dry too just haven't been to ethanol plant recently that made dry. Colwich tore out their dry DDG plant. Lyons makes it I know. Sounds like you haul DDG quite a bit, how high are your trailer sides?

i do haul a lot of ddg,but i am in central ky. so i'm purty close to the whiskey, bourbon distillarys so thats where i haul most of my loads out of,there is one ethanol plant in pembroke,ky. 180 miles due west from me .i have 66 inch sides, but i don't need the highside for whiskey and bourbon ddg cause i'm so heavy empty anyway. i can't axle out but about 24ton so until i lighten up truck and get newer trailer, thats where i'm at. now with the ethanol plant ddg i can only get 22.5ton if i walk it in but i probably only haul 10-12 loads/year out of there.i get most of my ddg loads from distillarys 90 miles or closer.
wheathauler Thanks this. -
Raining out, 36 degrees. No snow yet maybe we'll get lucky and not get much. Elevators closed tomorrow and Friday around here...probably the same next week.
-
Ice storm here. But hubby is home, so I'm content.
-
You've had a lot of ice storms this year, is that normal? We get them here but figured you were too far north.
-
If I get to Ft Dodge,Ia Sunday will all this snow crap be over with?
You know how us southern boys are We just don't like the stuff at all.
And Merry Christmas to all of you
