I fill both of my filters before installing them and it fires on 1 crank every time.

Look I have a lot of trucks and go through an amazing amount of lies from shops about engine problems. The truth is a lot of mechanics are worthless and don’t know what they are talking about. Most will replace parts until they find the problem and many of them will make the claim the engine is ruined and needs to be replace.

engines don’t just lock up, it has to have a number of things to happen to it to make it lock up and turning it over trying to get it to start will never do that.

I have a 2020 truck that was going through fuel issues and towed to a recommended shop where the owner of the shop insisted that we get the engine overhauled because fuel may have leaked into the oil and ruined the engine.

take my advice seriously, get the truck to a Detroit Diesel engine dealer.

have them properly troubleshoot the problems, have them document the issues and then sue the first two shops for the costs.

You can insert a stopper in the center hole of the filter and fill it so that the fuel passes through the filter media. Hang the filter, cycle the pump and go. No?

In the original post it states the truck wouldn’t fire after they changed the oil?
Did the shop forget to put oil in the engine and the auto shut down wouldn’t allow it to start because of no oil pressure?
And after that did they keep firing it on either till it locked up?
Drive a truck in for a simple oil change and immediately the engine is locked up but the shop did everything right?
    Yea that seems plausible!

I can't completely decipher the OP.. but I'am trying to understand was it just a oil change it went in for .. or was there other things that needed addressed ...
My theory is It run when it was pulled in the shop .. you changed the oil .. now it won't run and supposedly the motor locked up !!! And why did they change the fuel pump ? It was running when it got shut off fuel pumps don't crap their dress just sitting
Probably it wasn't getting fuel because the safty shut down kicked in because there was no oil pressure.. but this all JMO

That's how I did it. Fuel filters and oil filter. I do hope the OP gets it sorted out.
