lets be realistic, it won't be eradicated, it can not be eradicated.
This isn't the first time we had this happen, the last time was in 1968 and what happened?
Nothing, it ran its course and we survived.

To the ADMINS,
It appears a couple of comments were, appropriately, deleted. For my part I apologize for my comment that was deleted. Perhaps the comment I was replying to, that was also deleted, was not meant as the insult I took it. IDK.
I'm very proud to be an American and between 10 years in the US Military, 7 years as a civilian contrator for our country and an additional 20 years as a civil servant, I feel I have served our country well and more than most. I do understand my political leanings are not so common among the community here, but regardless I've earned my right to have whatever views I have without my sense of patriotism being insulted. I perceived the reply to my original post as an insult and responded poorly and with anger.
Thank you for deleting the comments involved and helping keep our wonderful, mixed up and diverse community here within certain civil bounds. I will try in the future to keep all my comments and posts within the civil boundaries that are appropriate.
To the members wanting to know what the heck I'm talking about, someone replied to my comment and my mention of being a progressive, liberal, unionist democrat with what I thought was a direct insult to my patriotism and devotion to our country. I responded with a clearly too harsh comment. The admins came along and appropriately deleted the comments involved and did their duty well. The admins on this site are unsung heros for this group!dwells40 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
Seriously, what proof it is bad enough that we needed to destroy people's lives over it?
out of 7.69 BILLION people, there are 4 million dead from it.
7,690,000,000 - 4,000,000 = 7,686,000,000 people who may have had it and won't get it again.
Where is the reasoning we need to slow anything?
The virus - all variants - have a high recovery rate - 97.5 to 99.5%
The virus - all variants - have a very low mortality rate .0003 - .0004%
Now the vaccines used, the two part especially has NEVER BEEN USED IN HUMANS BEFORE outside a few research testing where it was stopped because it made people very sick. This is the first time it has been used in mass and we do not know what damage it can have with the immune system, do you want to actually take a chance?
The norm was to protect the ones who are at risk and let a virus go through the population for herd immunity. Those who had it before as science has proven, have immunity to it in the future.
BUT look at what we have done, we have removed real science and replaced it with political science. WE have ignored 120 plus years of virology with knee jerk reactions. -

to save lives that could not be saved anyway?
Not to be callus about it but removing the lock down, mask mandates and all of the other crap, where are the lives getting destoyed?
Seriously there isn't any.
The people in the government has lied about this from day one.
They have pushed hard the notion that everyone is going to die that gets it.
Maybe we should have started to test not for the virus and who has it but who had it.
Maybe we needed to have people who said this therapy works and that therapy woks to be allowed to speak.
My kid was dying from it, it took a doctor who said he didn't care what professional problems he faced, his actions are about saving the patient and he did. He used the same drugs that the people were told was going to kill anyone who used it but he has only lost three patients out of a few thousand. Another doc my wife used to see was fired when she suggested there is other means to mitigate the symptoms of the virus, she had on her website a list of drugs that were proven to work but she was fired for posting them and the CDC actually filed a complaint against her with the state.
Why isn't antibody therapy being talked about?
Because it doesn't make money for Pfizer and Merduna.
