Why is country music stereotypically synonymous with trucking?

haha I meant that as a compliment. I see you guys as the last hurrah of old school trucking. Big fast trucks, no elogs etc. Obviously I'm only seeing the "cool" parts, I understand it is a lot more than that but I do look up to you.

Hopefully you guys can hang on like that for a long time, the future seems very bleak in terms of freedom. I've had that feeling for a long time and this whole plandemic just really put the seal on it.

I do, I plan on living in one (don't know which one yet) in the near future. Tired of the prison cities.

When I went out in a truck the first time I my life, the driver listened to rock, he said country music is too depressing and causes suicides in trucks.

when I went out as a driver to learn how to drive a truck, the guy who owned the truck said would never listen to country music, even though he grew up in Wyoming, was an actual cowhand and had the typical cowboy outfit he wore. He said he listened to big band, rock or classical music, he said country music is depressing and causes suicides in trucks.

One famous country music star is my cousin, he sent me a catalog of his music after met him the first time in 1999 which I gave to my kids. He asked me if I listen to country music, I said no, it is too depressing which threw him off. When I talk to him any time, even to this day, music is never discussed. His car collection, his tractor collection, even his baseball card collection is discussed but nothing about music.

    Who?...is your cousin.
The stories they weave, the sad ones especially are what makes me a fan but I'm never depressed.
The wife and I saw Kris Kristofferson last year on a cruise and turned out to be his last performance. Same w Merle, saw him in the summer and by the next spring he was gone.

This song was inspired by a true old school professional trucker who passed away last month. I had the pleasure of knowing him and always enjoyed his stories.

I dislike ( modern) country music. It’s just simple pop music which I also don’t like.…. I’m more of a Pink Floyd, Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Blues, Avant Garde Jazz and Ramones
Of course there are exceptions to the rule… Chris Stapleton is a genius…
Listen to Thomas Chapin for some great Jazz
