What if it Snows?

Watching the news this morning they say 2 miles from south shore.

 

Took FIL Frank out for a ride yesterday afternoon. He was like #### son where's the shifter #### son you gots ya an auto. Told him look you remember how swollen my knee got using the clutch all day. He says big deal we didn't have power steering, air ride or A/C in my day, typical lol. Anyway we roll and he really likes the truck and ride couldn't believe how good it shifted. Says sure we're bobtail. I says your buddy still have that ranch, he says yeah. I says call and see if he has a loaded trailer we can use for a test. Sure enough he does. We go over and hook to it and pull it up and down a few hills. He finally says it does good for an auto, so we go back and drop trailer. We get done and I sit in the passenger seat, he looks at me and says #### does this rig drive itself. I says no and toss him the keys and said you do. He just stared at me and said really. Yep I ain't driving and it don't drive itself.
Biggest smile I ever seen on his face as he went around to git in. He rolled around his buddies place getting used to it then headed to the road. Drove that ##### to his house like a boss. Other some sweat pouring off my forehead was a great time. We got to his place and at dinner that was all he could talk about. Win Win

 

All 10 speeds suck. The 12 speeds are much better.

 

The DD15 with D12 works really good since they were designed for each other.

 

All this auto talk makes me want to turn some miles.

 

I've been feeling that way since June.

 

A lot of those problems may be the programing. There are different parameters that the dealer can set to make it much more functional for how and where the rig gets driven.

My 387 with ISX and 10 speed the dealer updated the software and changed to a different programing. I only used manual mode to lock in gear and hold for coming down a mountain.

Of course the Cascadia with the 12 speed had a time limit on manual mode. Unfortunately the timer was less than the time to come down Cabbage.

Mostly true, 10 speeds are marginal to bad in anything other than flat land/interstate.

12 speed auto have their quirks that need fixing that may involve a technician that has a clue and a password.

 

Any auto sucks….

 

You sound like my FIL. Yesterday but by the end of or drive he had changed his mind. If it wasn't for this auto I would have to have been done. Poke as you wish
