Cats quality on oem parts for over the road engine are less than quality. Subpar. There warranty and attitude reflects it. They do not care. Highway use engines are not a priority, or its customers.

Prices I see make me wonder what my truck would be worth on the market, not that I’m going to sell it. It’s a factory Glider setup for a Big Cam or N14.....,

And never has been....their bread and butter was always yellow iron, truck engines were a red-headed step child.

As truck drivers we see accidents all the time and some involving fatalities.Well today I saw the craziest one by far unfold in front of my eyes just east of Lake Charles,LA.So as I’m driving I see a truck kicking up dust on the opposite side of the highway and I realized that it was in the ditch and truck was going up and down and side to side at a high rate of speed and I’m looking and hoping the driver saves the truck in time before he wrecks.Well a few seconds later he hits a power pole and one of the lines touched the trailer and the truck was engulfed in flames in a blink of an eye like something out of a movie. The truck was still moving at a good clip when it was burning and all I could do was hope that the truck would come to a stop before it was too late.Never would I have imagined that a truck would burn that fast. What I saw scared the crap out of me.

I've found that some CAT shops don't work on truck engines anymore. CAT in Toledo only has one old truck engine mechanic left. They bought a Peterbilt dealership. All the young mechanics work on Paccar.

    I seen that.
