If you can't find a better company you would do better just to sell the truck and go drive somewhere.

In three years you're going to have a truck that's worth a small amount of money that's going to need a lot of expensive repairs.

You have to do better or you have to hang it up .

...just wait till the truck starts breaking ...
You can make 3k per week these days running brand new truck for 1099 chicongo co and made a killing in 1-2 years if the market stays the same .
If you want to be home daily or pretty often - cant tell much about it then , but otr and flat bed make good money now ...with the right co or dispatch of course

    Unless I missed it

I think what we don’t have is how many miles or hours he is working in a day

If it’s a 100 mile run and home by lunch then $3500 looks better

But if it’s up at 5am. Dirty all day and home at 7pm
    Nope!!!

Wasn’t too long ago a 2015 with that mileage was going for 30 k boy used prices on emission trucks went up. People were avoiding a 5 year old truck due to constant emission issues.

I'm running pretty hard. 60 plus hours a week in 5 days. Every day I'm running close to my limit and that at the limit here in texas which is 12 hours drive time and 3 hours on-duty not driving time so 15 hour days basically.
haha, right but no. thankfully the truck runs well and does not burn any oil. In 5 weeks of running pretty hard, I haven't had to put any oil in it. Purs like a kitten.

Yes, It's ridiculous how much prices for trucks have gone up. This same truck went for around 10 grand less 3 months ago.

Yes that's pretty much it. I mean up at 4:30am and out till 9pm. Here in texas if you stop and log off duty it does not go against your drive time for the day. Pretty nice but can make for a very long day.

    Change your business model

Go and run a few weeks and then go home for a week or two and actually have quality time doing it

Many months I run 3-4 and off 2-3 or more

I think the guy I'm running under has a couple of company drivers and the rest are O/O's. 7 total they said. Yeah, the only Texas deal seems to be a factor being that the rates are not all that good right now, and as you said flooded with drivers running old 30-year-old trucks with hardly any overhead. Were pulling I-beams, huge light poles, concrete construction platforms/walls, and a lot of 60' rebar of all varying diamaters.

Right, I have considered this but it isn't possible in my current situation.
