Good for you. As this thread and many, many others have proven it's bad advice to tell someone they will be fine using pc to finish a trip. It is, after all, specifically not a valid use of pc.

Well back then I was hauling for a company that verbally dispatched, no way the prove time of dispatch. Went to court the judge went with the officer, but then it never showed up anyway.

I have been doing the same thing for ten years every week man. Keep on keeping on. I guess they can be a dick but "Guidance" generally doesn't hold up well in court. It's why they don't write the ticket very often. Sure a officer can be a dick, but when used responsibly I figure I can let a judge decide what guidance means. Some of you guys are scared of your own shadow. Use PC sparingly and correctly you will seldom if at all have a problem.

My biggest fear of FMCSA offering up this brilliant guidance about using PC to find parking when held at a shipper is that we all know every clown shoe would abuse it. Owner ops just going home will be the ones who feel the wrath of these flip flop wearing morons who can't park. Hard but true.

When in doubt, just use your drive time.

Those flip flop, athletic pants wearing guys are the worst. You'll never catch me in that attire. I wear composite toe boots, cargo pants or shorts if it's hell on Earth hot, long sleeves and a vest whenever I'm outside my truck. Just how I carry myself. Oh and always a pen and flashlight on me.

That's pretty much my attitude too. Living in California with a speed limit of 55, the CHP can write me up for 56 if they really want to, but it doesn't stop me from setting my cruise control at 62 and passing them parked with their radar out every single day on the road.

Lol. IDK. I lease MY truck to a carrier. My home zip code and carrier zip code is different. I'm guessing this makes me a safer driver than others while on PC going home. Who knows. Never had a problem with a inspection.

I suspect it's due to being leased on. That company's terminal is being treated as the *yard." Instead of your house.

If you just ran load board it'd be different.

I had a discussion about this situation with Illinois DOT while getting inspected. If driver had this issue and they had taken a full 10 hour break after violation is discovered by dot. Can you put them out of service? He stated no because they are not deemed unsafe. He could write them a citation. The criteria for putting out of service is unsafe vehicles or unsafe drivers..
