So what was the purpose of quoting me and then not saying anything? Seems most of us have a grasp on the actual regulations and you’re the one arguing a regulation that doesn’t exist. Read and comprehend the actual wording of the reg you keep referring to. You can’t point out the part that says a pretrip is required because it doesn’t exist in the actual wording.

I had a dude back into my truck at a Loves while I was eating dinner in the sleeper. When I called to report it that night they said call safety in the morning. The first question they asked me wasn't whether or not I was ok, but whether or not I could have done something to prevent it.
The safety guy at my current company threatened to take money from me for perceived violations of PC. After threatening a lawsuit he backed off.
Don't quote safety people as DOT regulation. Show us the regulation mandating a pre trip inspection or admit there is none and you are wrong. Put up or shut up. -
(a) Every motor carrier, its officers, drivers, agents, representatives, and employees directly concerned with the inspection or maintenance of commercial motor vehicles must be knowledgeable of and comply with the rules of this part.
(b) Every intermodal equipment provider, its officers, agents, representatives, and employees directly concerned with the inspection or maintenance of intermodal equipment interchanged or offered for interchange to motor carriers must be knowledgeable of and comply with the rules of this part.
(c) This part does not apply to “covered farm vehicles,” as defined in 49 CFR 390.5, or to the drivers of such vehicles.
(d) The rules in this part do not apply to “pipeline welding trucks” as defined in 49 CFR 390.38(b).

What are your Qualifications to advise other drivers to not follow SOP. You are advising drivers to ignore Safety procedures.. That is not very Smart.
