If you think you had to beg for a ticket home wait until you try to go back . I think you're going to have a long holiday .
I'm not buying that color of your skin crap . All drivers are equally disrespected regardless of race , religion , or sexual orientation .

 

Been there , done that , and I'm white. COVENANT SUCKS !!! I used to work there, they were the worst ! Every time I wanted to get home I had to take the bus too, it took all day to get out of Chattanooga ! They would make me wait to talk with my Dispatcher, they were behind frosted glass and locked doors. It took him a couple hours to come out. Then, he would hunt for freight, I would wait in the Driver's waiting room. He'd come out several hurs later,and tell me he couldn't find anything, he'd go back in and then several hours later he'd come out with the bus ticket. I then had a 16 hour bus ride home to FL ! They never had freight coming here, yet they hired us out of FL and came to our truck driving school in Tampa ! The pay sucked along with the forced teammates I was forced to Team with too ! I could only take 5 months of their crap, and then I quit ! I have a neighbor who put up with 20 years in the Army, but only worked about a month with Covenant !

 

I think that should be in the hiring info of a lot of companies.

 

Leave race out of it has no place here, or at work. Maybe its your attitude that is causing the problem. I'm surprised they would be giving you a bus ticket home unless they were not planning on bring you back.

Most companies would tell a team driver you had to wait tell you were routed near the house (no matter what color you are). If I were him and you thru the race crap into the equation I you terminate you on the spot.

 

First off there is very little freight out of Florida, Juice and oranges . Second no one forces you to do anything, it is always your choice, Most of the companies that go into Florida have trouble getting loads out. I used to be deadheaded back up to the Carolinas or Georgia.

Most companies are crappy about getting drivers home, 1 day off every 7 is a clue that they do not care about drivers in general.

I have a couple of friends that are trainers at Covenant and they both like it. 1 guy lives in Bakersfield and the other lives in Denver, both cities are heavy trade routes of Covenant so neither has problems getting by the house.

This is stuff you have to consider while selecting companies. Ask most will tell you the areas the run heavy in to.
