I have worked for almost everyone, LOL. With the BEST being at the top and the Worst at the bottom of the list. I rated the companies on how they treat the drivers, pay the drivers, lie to the drivers, benefits. You may not agree with my choices, this is based on my personal experiences and horror stories that I have been through. The only company from this list that REALLY treats their drivers with RESPECT, good PAY and benefits is WALMART. The other companies below can’t even come close to the respect and pay at Walmart. This has been a trucking journey from 1995 to the present.

Walmart - drivers treated with respect, no pressure, great pay, benefits, home time every five days. Many different shifts 5/2/, 6/3, One thing Walmart does is they are always changing with new ideas for the drivers.

Magnum - benefits good, health ins a little high, allowed pets.

Safeway - Union, ok pay, benefits good. Never two days off in a row. Home daily. Pressure on drivers to drive more.

Werner - low pay, bad dispatchers, good tractors, allows pets. Have to stay out weeks at a time to make any money.

Central Oregon - tarp EVERY load even when NOT necessary. Low pay for the amount of work. Pressure to do more driving.

Pride - allows pets, left me stranded in Utah with no way home or hotel.

Swift - bad trainers, low pay

MS Carriers - out of business

    Stevens Transport- low pay

Panther - lease option, your gonna pay for someone else truck payments.

Tri Gas - will lie to you to get you in the door.

UPS - bad management, unfavorable working conditions, age discrimination.

C R England - Armed guards at their terminals, metal sectors when you go into human resource office, that should speak volumes. Low pay, lying dispatchers, will leave you stranded. Cut off my fuel card cause I wanted to return tractor, luckily I filled up before they left me stranded and I was able to return tractor without an abandonment on my record.

they will not take you out of school, I think you have to have 30 months of driving with a clean record, no faults on the driver side.

I wasn't referred, and am heading to orientation in a few weeks, and have no relatives working at Walmart.

Does anybody have any knowledge of what schedules are offered out of New Braunfels Tx?
The recruiter from Walmart transportation didn’t know. She did say that they were trying to fill 50 driver positions.

Me as well, it is the same everywhere, when they are fully staff, unless you know someone inside you not getting in, and your record better be perfecta. But when they are hurting for people, they will do a job fair, pretty much everyone that managed to get out of bed and show up will get hired on the spot.

I tried applying to the DC on my own home town, about 20 min from my home, I been applying there for years now and never got a reply. Then I saw they were offering a huge sign on bonus, the city was trash, the driving region is hell, so I knew they were looking for drivers, I submitted my application to that job ID, and within a few hours I had their recruiter calling me, did about a 20 min interview, asked me a few questions about my other employers and send me the job offer.

So, it is all about how desperate they are for what they need, like everything else in life you just got to be standing at the right corner at the perfect time and the winner takes it all.
