We have fuel hauling here. Pays $65K/yr, tops. I won't do it. They are one of the highest paying around here. They try to use the excuse of cost of living here. But they don't sell the fuel cheaper. Close friend of mine did fuel for years. I went with his advise.
I personally work OTR, dry van. I enjoy it.

I really appreciate the response. I would like more money, wouldn’t we all, but I’m not in a tight spot or anything. You’re ATM comment is really good advice. Lol. I could buy them the world, but I wouldn’t be in it very much.

We use to could get a few things from breakage, but we went through a big management change and no longer can. We only sell a few things that are worth their weight anyways. And it’s usually not broken. Haha.

That’s true. I’m caught up in all the things I could buy with the extra money, but probably wouldn’t have time to enjoy half of them.

That is solid advice. They certainly don’t sell it any cheaper.

Just out of curiosity what do you do with your time at home right now?

Spend time with the fiancé and our animals, visit my mom and other family, ride ATVs, go kayaking, go to the beach or Tennessee for a weekend, hangout with friends, go out on date nights, take care of house stuff and help my grandparents with their land ( tree cutting and mowing), watch tv, play games, nap. I really just kinda take it easy and go with the flow of life.

I’d only take the fuel job if I needed the money, your current job sounds seriously great to me.

What does your fiancé do? Do you want kids?

The beer job allows you other options…like if you eventually wanted to start your own business. You could run the beer run and get your own hustle on and get it off the ground. The fuel job will have you locked in where you don’t have the time to do anything.

If you and the fiancé are really tight knit and comfortable, and she’s around your age, odds are she’s going to want kids. That will greatly affect your income. And the beer job is a young man’s job. You’re not always going to be young.

If you are comfortable right now, don’t look at the fuel job as a way to buy more stuff. That’s a mistake. Keep your cost of living the same and stack all the extra and make money work for you. Working more to buy more is not a really bright idea.

    Luck in battle.

Let me ask you this, if both jobs brought in exactly the same money, which one would you rather do and why?

My current job is pretty nice. It’s a great company and the people are good to me.

Rolling beer is definitely a young guy’s job. Those kegs are unforgiving. Haha. And that’s a good point. I hadn’t really thought about doing anything else with the money aside from spending it.

I’d take beer for sure. Just because it’s not as hazardous to haul around.

Lonesome and Kyle G. Thank this.
