Yesterday, I dodged a bullet. After making through a red light, teenage girl decided to pull out in front of me from opposing turning lane, makes a u turn. I veered to the left, and she kept coming over. Finally had to lock up brakes, I was right up against the middle turn lane. Thought I had clipped a pu truck on my side. We were close. Tapped her bumper, cracked the plastic. We pulled to the shoulder. I expected to see damage on both my fenders, and expected the pu truck to show up. No damage at all. No pu truck, must have not clipped him. Her bumper was cracked, tail lights were ok. Trunk already had damage from the last time she caused a wreck. She apologized. I said no problem, no ones hurt. I ask what do you want to do? She says nothing. I say OK let’s go!!! Whew!! Just a reminder to watch for the unexpected.

Volvo hell is real......just went to bed last night I hear crunching plastic and fiberglass as my truck rocks. Look out sure enough white Volvo hit me as he was trying to back in across from me. Luckily Cascadia must build a slightly tougher truck as I have scratches on the bumper, hood and headlight, he on the other hand has busted fiberglass on his fender and the bumper was pushed into the tire. He also busted the mirror on the truck next to the hole he backed into.

Alright, we’re headed home. Got a load of twisted lemonade for the college kids. Only 30k. After deadheading 444 miles Sunday out of Florida. Got the average way up on last 3 trips. Still counting the DH miles out, bottom line average is down just a bit. Not too bad. If I were to work a few more days. The 7 day weekly per Mile rate wound be higher. Still hardly worth it to go to Florida. Rate needs to be good enough to DH up to Macon, or similar distance.

Good God!! They shouldn’t send Drivers out, till they can safely Drive. Been seeing a lot of crazy stuff lately. Many don’t have a clue. Reminder to stay away from other Trucks, on the highway. Running in a bunch, no telling how many are an accident waiting for a place to happen. Only takes one mistake.

Some idiot driving a farm 10 wheeler nearly killed my entire family this morning.

My wife was following a pick up down the local state highway, they were doing the speed limit of 60 mph. The 10-wheeler didn't stop for a STOP sign where his county road intersected the highway.

The pickup swerved into the left lane (lane for opposing traffic) to go around the front of the 10 wheeler. My wife held her lane and immediately slammed on the brakes, as the 10-Wheeler finally stopped... Completely blocking my wife's lane of the highway. She luckily was able to get completely stopped 12 to 18 inches short of impacting the 10-wheeler. After a LONG blast of my wife's horn everyone got on thier seperate ways.

I told my wife she did good, held her lane, didn't swerve, and braked fast enough to avoid a collision. I did however tell her that this is exactly the type of situation that makes me a little nervous about her driving... I think she follows to close, even though she follows a little further than they teach for cars. She was a little miffed that I scolded her a little... But I think she now understands why I always sayvshe is following a little to close.

I'm just greatful that everyone was able to drive away with nothing more than an elevated adrenaline level and a little more brake pad wear.

EF59A2B6-8736-4B65-B16B-C62C9AA8D551.png I think I stumbled onto an alien Flying saucer Landing and Launching Structure. Sitting on a piece of property owned by the Local Electric Utility. 2 Men dressed in Utility Uniforms were obviously some type of Government Agents, pretending to be working on a Electrical Box. Things are never as they appear. My analogy is much more interesting. Notice the shape of the Launching Pad. It’s about 400 ft across. What the hell is that thing? Perfectly round, about 60 ft high.
