Why are records required to be kept by the Carrier so A Dot Auditor can check them. You are missing a great opportunity as a Consultant. Carriers hire people like You . Attorneys will hire You .

So when my maintenance department does an inspection. I'm out of compliance?
Should you do a pre sure. The law doesn't say you have to. Your company may say you have to. -
ZVar posted the actual regulation.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
You don't seem to understand. If the LAW, the ACTUAL WORDING OF THE LAW, does not specify how something must be done then it can be done any way the driver wants. You are ASSUMING it means a pre trip. You know what they say when you assume, right?
Now, to be clear, I'm not saying that one shouldn't do a pre trip. I'm simply stating that the law doesn't MANDATE it.Last edited: Sep 18, 2021

You are Ignorant if you think you are right. You are also dangerous, you are telling drivers they don't have to inspect their equipment. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. You sir are Wrong.
