Here I am sitting in the hospital yesterday waiting on my surgery for stage 4 Pancreatic and Stomach cancer that might just remove all of it along with most of my stomach and pancreas. The surgeon told me that this cancer of mine is 8" by 5" by 5" and goes from my pancreas almost to my esophagus and is the biggest one hes ever seen and hes going to get a couple more surgeons in the room so that they can do all this in one day/8-10 hours (surgery was supposed to have been today).....but guess what???

Yep, you guessed it. I somehow got covid sitting in my house going nowhere the past couple weeks so I'm now in the ICU quarantined with no real symptoms of anything but they are giving me all of these antibiotics and injections who knows why? After 10 days my surgeon will reschedule my appointment (that I've waited for since the end of July, losing almost 50 pounds in the process) for sometime in October.

I started out at about 185-190 pounds when I stopped driving in June. Now I weigh under 135 and I've been eating 2500-3000 calories a day, 1000 calories of protein shakes a day but nothing helps.

Yay covid!!!! Kill me now please! I have no symptoms of it but I've had for weeks a low blood pressure that if untreated was down to 60/40 but yeah they'll call me a covid death if I fall out dying of this cancer that had eaten my insides!

I'm sorry to hear about your cancer, that sound extremely awful and painful. That is a lot of weight to lose in just several months time. How did you discover the cancer originally, did you have any symptoms or anything or was it just caught on a yearly physical/exam/checkup or something like that?

Did the doctors say whether it was genetic or could it have been prevented somehow (maybe diet plays a role, I don't know?

I hope you get to feeling better and make it through this. Cancer is such a terrible disease.

Maybe it’s my ad blocker, but I didn’t see any data. A bunch of numbers with referenced, but not any links to the actual numbers.

I personally don't believe you. Based on what you are saying. They would be doing chemotherapy to shrink the size of the tumor before even considering Whipple surgery.

How do I know? You might ask. Because I have stage IV pancreatic cancer. Roughly the same size you are quoting. Both the doctors in NM and the doctor here in Florida. Have said surgery can't happen at this size because it is encroaching on too many other organs AND the major artery that goes through your body. There's no way to get it all. At this size.

Well I was driving with my wife in the truck for the past almost 3 years and we just were tired of it and she wanted me to buy a house and get a local job. We saved up a lot of money because we dont even pay rent. I kept putting it off quitting because I was making between 1500-2100 dollars a week doing a cake job so I just wanted to keep stacking the cash lol.

Then I started getting some weird injuries in my feet and ankles and knee caused by nothing or after I banged a ratchet into my leg accidentally I would get a bruise that turned into a hard knot instead of healing. A couple times I got weird tightness in my knee or foot that didnt make any sense but I couldnt even stand up for a while until it went away. So after several months of that I finally put in my notice and quit. Then we drove to start looking for a place to rent.

The day after we moved in to an apartment my ankle swole up and I couldnt walk on it. I laid in bed for a week until it finally got better. Then I was going to start looking for a job but after going to the gym and only riding the bike for 30 minutes the next day my knee started swelling up until it was almost the size of a bowling ball, no joke. I laid there, leg raised and ice, for a couple weeks waiting for it to go away. I could barely hobble around in immense pain so I finally called the VA hospital.

They didnt do anything except schedule me for some xrays. Eventually 5 days later I went back and told them I've lost about 20 pounds also and I wanted some blood tests and they did them and the result was that my hemoglobin was 5 when its supposed to be 14+ so I had to rush to the emergency room. Once I got a bed 6 hours later they did a CT scan and found my tumor which still had to be tested for cancer but was positive 3 days later.

That was in July. I've been waiting for a date for surgery and lost another 30 pounds waiting. The swelling in my knee went away eventually but has moved to my arms, other leg and foot and hand and ankle and wrist and was diagnosed as gout caused by the cancer and is the most painful thing ever because it literally fills up your entire joint and swells up around it and turns into cement then it cramps all of the muscles all the way down your arm or leg 100% all day cramp pain. You cant move at all without the worse pain ever. I went from Ibuprofin, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Tramadol, Toradol, Morphine sometimes 3-4 of those at the same time and they don't come close to stopping the pain if I try to move because I've turned into a slab of stone.

But now I have covid so lets forget about all that. No symptoms at all but the 1 single test was positive supposedly, they wont give me another one for 10 days even though I've asked for one repeatedly.

OK buddy don't believe! I really don't give a rats ### but maybe you might want to look up Neuro-Endocrine cancer. Which apparently cannot be treated at all by radiation or Chemotherapy because its a very slow growth cancer. Or maybe my doctor is just lying to me and you are correct which is kind of hilarious to consider.

Actually per John Hopkins. They do use chemo and radiation to shrink NETs. When the tumor is too large for surgery.

Is it possible that yours is located just perfect for you to get surgery. Maybe. Just seems strange that my cancer in the same area. Is encroaching on organs and yours isn't.

Plus that you would be put in the ICU. With as you said. "No symptoms." Hospitals don't do that. ICU is for people who need intensive care. Hence the name.

Again. I'll concede. It could be possible I'm incorrect. But logic leads me to believe that I'm not.
