I'd get out also, sooner the better !! Those drivers keep failing those inspections, it'll be time for another review !!! These new regs may make some changes over there also !!!!!.... 10-4 good buddy

With the economy the way it is, what happens if you buy the truck and no company takes you or when you sign on they decide to drop you?? you have to go through all the headache to find another company, or find your own loads if you do it that way. with lease, they give you steady loads like JCT does, doesn't make you sit around like most companies and o/o out there. Also if something comes up just walk away with no strings attached. So not ALL leases are BAD!!!!

Thats right if you are driving for some other company other than JCT.. I drive solo and after all my taxes I net 75-80k with hometime. :) I wish I had a codriver like LMB does where they can bring home well over 150k.. After all at the end we have a truck where there is potential to increase that net profit cuz we don't have truck payments any more. Whereas a company driver you ARE stuck at that salary.. Also as a company driver you don't have the freedom to run the route or fuel whereever you want!!!

go here http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...favorite-trucking-company-here/59021-jct.html and start reading.. several of us have posted our numbers.

LMB has told you his bring home "net" - if you think we're that stupid and not include the numbers after fuel and payments and taxes then i don't know what to tell you.

Also we have a maintenance escrow with JCT, so any maintenance comes out of that account. No headache at all!!

If you want to know mine, I am a solo driver for JCT for 4.5 years now and I avg around 175000 miles a year and net around 75000 after taxes

I don't know why everyone is getting all bunched up uver the definition of net is. I didn't ask about home expenses, or personal expenses. I merely asked a very important, very simple to answer question. LMB came back like I was asking what he pays for a home, far from the truth.

Both of you put out numbers claiming NET. All I am saying is net is different to different people. I asked LBM how many miles did he run to accomplish his very good gross income, how much home time at home, and was that after all TRUCKING related expenses, including taxes and health insurance. I call net income the bottom line on a Schedule C, then the amount of taxes paid on that amount. Since taxable rates are different for most, the Schedule C business income net is the only accurate indicator before taxes paid.

I wasn't the one that brought up pay and posted it here. I just asked for a clarification of that pay, and what was involved in earning that pay as far as miles and home time. This is to help inform those that are looking at a L/P, L/O operation. Maybe you have me confused with some of the others arguing with you. I haven't posted one thing negative in this thread. Again, just asking for clarity.

I have read many stories on this and other forums about L/P, L/O ripoffs. This paticular company seems to work well for you, and could be a good fit for others who wish to go your route, if they get the whole picture to determine for themselves. As for your pay, I hope you net $300k a year and show everyone there is a company that won't rip all drivers off like some that we all know of.

PS.................. There have been hundreds of L/Os come here and claim net as to what was left over after they paid the fuel for that week, which is why I asked for clarification.

I don't know why you replied to my post in that tone. You need to re-read what I asked about, which was clarification of YOUR numbers. It's not hard to list how many miles you ran, and how much home time you had to get the gross numbers you posted. I should have asked if your net was what you reported on your Schedule C, which is the only net that matters.

I'm not trying to bad mouth you or your company, and I don't care if you bought braces or not. That is not trucking related expenses. As I said, just clarification so others can make an informed decision.

congrats :) i really don't know what else these others want us to tell them. you tell them that your take home is 150k and I tell me as a solo I bring home around 75k and as far as taxes its gonna be different for everyone. So it's whatever, you answer one question they have others coming!!!
