Not entirely off because it has to be on for my weather and GPS to work but it's not supposed to share or keep record of my location. Also permissions are off for most things unless I'm using it.

I know how you love these trucks, just had to pick on you though, just a bit, LOL.

From what I read, the 7100 & 8100 have the same cabs, but the 7100 only came with the DT466. This one is a '90, 1st year production, engine is '89 production, 238k orig runs perfect, started life as a soda hauler (Ryder lease). Not in bad shape overall, single rail frame is solid. Took me a few months to find what I wanted. Most of what I found was worn out rusted junk. Older fellow bought it solely to haul his camper a couple times every year, had it for years and now had no more use for it.

I'm going through it now, started by getting a new (not rebuilt) starter, new rear brake can and hoses, and all new batt 1/0 cables, removed the batt box, step, tool box, mud flaps, and wheels, wire wheeled them and the frame, painted same while the weather's still warm. Next up, change all the fluids, filters, rad flush, water pump, and all the hoses, with much more on the list. Just not enough hours in the day and I'm just gettin too old...

Forgot to mention it. But first chemo treatment went fine. No side effects.

Who's got the investigation, state or local? As it's a serious felony, one would think they'd work on it a bit. Since you know the vehicle make, model, year range, and color, a DMV and NLETS data query within a certain radius would reveal all that currently reg/plate match. Would take a little leg work to follow-up, and they likely have a heavy case load already, but aint that what they're gettin paid the big bucks for? Maybe reach out to the lead investigator on the case?

Of course the vehicle's likely long gone by now, as time was of the essence, but hey, a bit of follow-up and a little brow beatin might just solve it...

I like how you word things. Extremely polite, but the menace is there.

There’s a good possibility that the perp doesn’t live farther than a mile or so from the accident scene. There’s a good chance that the watering hole is nearby too. And it’s almost guaranteed that the person’s default setting has not changed. No conversation other than the religious conversion.

Yep. There is next to zero privacy any more especially if you carry a smart phone or any network capable device around.

@AModelCat how goes the home gym workout?

Years ago, back when I was constantly in Ft Saskatchewan, my company kept the drivers in a certain motel. On the weekends, we would meet the new guys coming in for orientation. We would meet them, explain to them some of the OSOW regs, and how to work an rgn since the majority of new guys had zero experience with either. They would ask to keep in contact, and if they ran into a problem, we could help.

Some big brain decided that the new blood shouldn’t converse with the vets, and so they put them into another motel. Safety score plummeted, contracts were lost, money cut, vets gone to greener pastures.

In an attempt to curb the safety issues, the company started paying $50 every time a driver or pilot car dropped a dime. So, you would be at some job, and another company driver would walk up and say hello while looking for a way to get a $50 gift card. Eventually drivers wouldn’t speak at all to other drivers, nor would aid any who was in desperate need of help. Safety score plummeted even more.

The reason why I bring this up is because ALL of this, from the quarantine to the shutdowns to the vaccine BS reminds me of what happened at my previous employer. No one speaks. No one listens. No one saw a thing. Hellen Kellers. When something bad happens, NO ONE does anything. If there were smart phones 20 years ago, do you know how many pictures and posts there would have been from the airplane that hit the World Trade Center?
