If you have a permit it’s fine. 10 round limit now. I carried in the truck for 10 years with no problems. One time I delivered to an army base. I told the guys at the gate I was carrying a firearm. They were cool about it. Wouldn’t let me on base of course. Made my delivery into the back of their pickup truck and they brought it in. Waved me away. Never asked to see my permit or anything.

I’m summary. Keep your mouth shut and check your paperwork for any military bases or airports stuff like that.

I prefer to carry tools as weapons instead of actual plain weapons. Easier for your lawyer to argue against premeditation when you whack an idiot on the head with a tire thumper rather than a Bowie knife. “I carry this big unconcealable knife just in case someone attacks” doesn’t sound so great in court vs “I was checking my tires with the rubber mallet and some guy came at me”

Yeah, but you have to make it to your day in court first. It doesn't matter what your lawyer can explain if your dead or dying in a hospital bed. Kind off a moot point then.

You got a valid point but I’m from Jersey. You shoot anyone even for self defense you’re going to jail. Guilty until proven innocent there, laws protect criminals there. They are a duty to flee state meaning I can only shoot if I had no “reasonable” means of escape. (They are very unreasonable with that clause tho I heard of a man getting 20 years because they proved he had the ability to escape by jumping off the 2nd floor window). Now if I whack him with a tire thumper I doubt he’s going to call the cops. Now I do carry a piece but it’s for those situations where I know I’m better off in jail than dead but those situations are going to be ones I see coming and if I see it coming I’d rather scurry off if I can.

That's my point though. If it comes time you need to defend yourself, best have the means to do so.......effectively. I would rather be in jail explaining my side to whomever wants to hear it vs being dead, a vegetable or paralyzed or whatever have you. With the protests of folks blocking streets and what not....it's more likely that you will face a crowd vs one on one. In the end, you gotta do what you think is right.

A lot of people have NEVER needed a seat belt either. State laws do compel them to wear one.
