Delivering in Salt Lake as I type. Will head over to the WVC terminal and have a few things looked at on the truck. We head up to Layton in the morning to get a load to Reno.
If anyone's in WVC I'll be the ugly bearded guy with the good looking brunette. If she decides to stay in the truck I just be the ugly bearded guy!!![]()

Hello everyone my father heads out with his trainer tomorrow for Central.. I just have a few questions of my own... What's there main running lanes, fuel stops, and is there alot of sitting after delivering loads? Thanks...
-
Delivery lanes are all the interstates in the country lol.
Not as much in the Northwest areas, Montana, the Dakotas etc, though they get to Washington and Oregon often.
Up to about New York in the North East, but not as much in the New England area.
They like to run drivers (epically new ones) on the opposite coast from home. They do not want you anywhere near home accept for home time the first 6 months or so.
This is just a safety net for them I think. That way if you quit it will not leave the truck stuck at your home area for them to get, or less chance of it.
I live in NY and my trip out of home was always straight to the West Coast. Nice long run out. Then I would run around out west for a few weeks before I headed back East. Once I was on Dedicated I was past home allot. But by that point they knew I could be trusted to go thru home and still deliver on time. -
Hi Guys, I met CreepyOldGuy today out at the Riverside training site today, he asked me to send his regards. He left is laptop at home and is staying at the hotel while training. I am being asked to be ready to leave tomorrow with my driver trainer. They sure don't mess around here once you get your license you are gone. Good luck all, I will keep you all updated on how I do.

After running thru flurries all day yesterday mother nature finally dumped it all on me at once. Not being able to make out the road anymore pulled into one of the Ohio service plazas on the 80. White stuff filled the sky till only moments after I sent in my post trip and went line 2. Figures!
Delivered a load of crayons to a Michaels DC. Everyone there was very friendly. Almost thought I was dreaming or in a twilight zone episode.
And the the preset from hell arrived. A team load to NY with a 01 an hour before. Contacted the FM (not sure what the F stands for anymore) with a dozen reasons from Sunday on why I should not be assigned that load. The battle was lost and I spent an hour sending mac 1's and 5's explaining why I could not get from Chicago to NY by 0900 tomorrow.
At the 01 ran into a fellow central driver who was also heading to my 02. It was nice to run with someone else for a little bit.
Head for NY in the AM. Hopefully when I return to the truck I won't have to explain again why I'll be 27 hours late to the 99. -
I am just so loving my company right now and at how helpful they can be. Got the tlr out of the shop last night and ran it for an hr or so to make sure the battery is charged. TK is nice enough to let me take a 10 in their lot. Get up this morning and the 1st thing I had to do was jump start the reefer. Sent in a breakdown to let them know what was going on and am soooooooo glad that they take the time to read this stuff. 1st thing I get is "do you have jumper cables"? Why no I don't. Going to use my body as a jumper!!! Didn't you read the #### msg I sent?
After getting it started, had the same problem I had yesterday with fuel starvation. Tlr inside shop now and you can be #### sure that it won't get turned off again till I drop it!!!
Oh yea- -heres the kicker. Road assisst wants to know why I'm running a tlr that is mty? Helloooooooooooo, ever here of pretripping your equipment? -
Boy howdy panhandle... I've been in that spot before.. Don't ya love how they take the time to carefully examin every word in your qm message?? Ha..
Anywho.. Ill be down in conley in a day or so.. Thing is my load doesn't unload before the 2nd at 2300.. So is conley safe enough to stay a few days in.. Or should I just pick a ts to do a few days at? Also.. Do they have a truck wash? 24hr mechanics and showers? -
Well heck. No wonder the tlr doesn't want to run. Manager showed me some of the fuel he drained out and it looks like its full of sand. Thinks it was biofuel that wasn't mixed correctly. Trying to get the ok to drain it and start over. Bummer, nearest truck stop is a hook.
