Forgive me for being dense, just wanted to make sure I understood what you're telling us.
The $120k...that's what you made total in the 6 months I'm assuming? Of which $38k went to fuel/ins/various other truck needs and the $82k went in the bank?

    xlsdraw and runningman0661 Thank this.

Anyone who has followed runningman through his multiple threads knows how ridiculous Gypsy65’s criticisms are here… He’s taking a post completely out of context.

Correct, and I really did that in five months because I was down for two weeks with no revenue waiting on a part and I took two other weeks off for vacations. The only thing the $82K doesn’t show is my truck payment $1703 a month and putting money away for quarterly taxes. That number is what went into my bank account since I’ve been leased to Landstar.

    Yeah

    I was wrong
I didn’t follow the entire life story and read that at a $1.34 there’s profit
I assumed that was the gross number

Didn’t realize that was the bottom line after the expenses of running a truck and not the top line

    My bad

You might be right here; I’m hoping that social security and Medicare also doesn’t go the way of the Dodo.

If so, then this will be my eulogy:

“He had aspirations to become an astronaut, a scientist, and a moviestar. He settled for a career in the trucking industry and worked his half ### half off for fifty years. His retirement found him as a Walmart greeter and his diet consisted of Alpo and Little Friskies....
Let us all now conclude this pauper’s burial”.

I did, for about 9 months, made good money and home most nights. I just couldn’t stand the micro management and ridiculous policies they had.

Picked up a hazmat load in Pennsylvania headed out to Iowa this morning. Running across the Ohio turnpike minding my Ps and Qs, a state trooper sitting in the middle lights me up. Pulls me into the service plaza and proceeds to perform a level 1, an hour later he walks back up to the truck and he places two CVSA stickers on the truck and trailer. It was the most thorough inspection I have ever been through, I was beginning to sweat it for a minute when he sat in his car so long, I figured he was composing a novel, but in the end it all worked out.

I’m heading to Iowa to take my truck to Mike Beckett at MD alignment in Des Moines, to try and resolve an issue with my front end. Ive had a slight shake in my front end since I bought this truck, had it aligned twice, put centramtics on the steers, had 10 new tires put on, but the shake has persisted. Hopefully Mike and Kevin can figure it out once for all.

The day was going good, I have two stops in Alabama tomorrow, I’m running ahead of schedule, called my first stop tomorrow and they agreed to take it off today, sweet! Stop and get fuel, about 15 miles down the road BOOM! Trailer tire explodes, Mfer! Now I sit waiting on Loves road side to come replace the tire, repair the mud flap, and bracket.

I guess it wasn’t meant to be, it’s the first trailer blowout in my 8 months here, if that’s going to my average I can live with that.

Hopefully the kid that comes to fix it has a chain and the know how to bend that bracket out.
