Depends on the state, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and Kansas, from Midnight to 5:30 am the troopers are busy sleeping, although apparently Nebraska must be setting their alarm clocks earlier, I've encountered a few on the road as early as 5 am. The scariest thing I've seen in a long time, a NSP trooper setting up turn-out at 5:15, I just happened to be his first customer of the day. I still like running 2 lanes in Wyoming, unless your driving like a fool or traffic is heavy, WSP will give 7 over, 10 if the trooper got some tail the night before.

I get a chuckle out of it too, you have to wonder how many times he's been stopped since then and had every inch inspected

In his own words OP states "I drive a slow as molasses company truck" so he must feel the need to gain as much time and miles he can by pushing the envelope, this probably includes zipping through the truck stop parking lot because time is such a terrible thing to lose, not so much a life.

My truck is governed at 68. I get 3200-3300 miles per week. Run recaps....try to average +-500 miles per day. I don't need to speed anywhere. My average speed driveline/on duty is 58-62 mph over the course of a month. I plan my trips/fuel/ stops, etc. I know where I am going to park before I start my truck in the morning. Efficiency, not speed is the name of the game for me.
