I was wondering if anyone in here has had any experience with companies that specialize in doing drop and hooks for Amazon. What are some of the pros and cons to companies that subcontract with Amazon
Try our Search function. There are several pages of information about Amazon. Most of what we hear on TTR is very negative. https://www.thetruckersreport.com/t...eads/amazon-the-new-slave-labor-king.2348406/ https://www.thetruckersreport.com/t...eads/amazon-the-new-slave-labor-king.2348406/
I know you just got your CDL recently. Please don’t fall for anyone selling the Amazon dream. It works well for a few and is a disaster for many. Amazon is tough to deal with and doesn’t give a crap about anything that may happen when you have their stuff.
One more point to add. Amazon may sound great because they are huge. They got huge by selling cheap. Can't sell cheap and still pay great rates for their logistics.
I avoid Amazon loads if I can. Amazon loads are so very tight on time, and I don't like that. Delivering a live unload at Amazon can result in many, many hours of waiting. It usually burns your 14 even if you have 10 hours left when you get there at the appointment time. That place in Joliet, IL comes to mind. I would NEVER be an actual employee of Amazon.
With all the negative about amazon I still keep track of the load board. Every once in a while there will be a load worth doing. ( mainly to get me to where I want to go) BUT- for some reason amazon will pay good rates to recover loads. And they seem to send out a lot of emails.
