So I just sold my 19 pete with 185k miles on it for 210k. I bought it for 140k with 30k miles on it 2 years ago almost exactly. It sold in 48 hrs. I kept seeing the prices and not believing they were getting THAT high. Guy came and looked at it yesterday. Too late for the wire transfer so he stayed in a hotel for the night. Drove off with it today. Last night I had 3 people contact me and said they'd send the money over and didn't even want to see it. This market is insane right now. Personally I think it's going to get a lot worse.
Truck prices are insane

I'll probably kick myself later but I turned him down. The guy got about half mad when I told him no. I plan on using them for fire tenders just like I did this year and if I sell them I'd have to replace them with something comparable. New trucks are out of the question in this particular case and I don't want to buy used in today's market.
I'll keep my old ones.
It's amazing how many people there are out there that will pay that kind of money for used trucks. -
But ya if you sell right now you're likely not going to find anotherlarry2903, JoeyJunk, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this. -

My brother ordered a little Featherlite car trailer a couple of months ago. The dealer called him a few weeks ago, and told him that it is a year out...IF it gets built at all. $11.000.
I ordered a little 10,000lb 22’ PJ car trailer a couple of months ago. Dealer estimated that it would be a couple of months out. I decided to buy a brand new 14,000lb that he had in stock. I bought the heavier trailer for 26 cents LESS than the lighter one due to a new “steel tax” of $1380. The heavier trailer did not have the tax on it because it had been built and delivered to the dealer before the “tax” went into effect.Last edited: Oct 28, 2021

That is what the dealer told me, and it is shown on the order form as a separate tax. Also, the other dealer who ordered my brother’s trailer, told him that he could get his trailer for $2000 less if he was willing to wait until March to get it (that was before he was informed that his would be at least a year out). I have to assume that it had something to do with this “steel (steal) tax”
