Millis OTR journal

What was their issue?

 

They were closed from midnight to 11am this morning. Everyone seemed to get there at 10:59. Trucks were backed up so far it prevented traffic from coming down Wayne Madison.

 

Also noticed they made the old millis yard into an overnight parking area for trucks.

 

Were they closed for inventory? I was at the brewery in Texas then and was glad they'd let me drop the empty before they reopened so I could skip most of the line when they opened again.

 

Good idea. I can see it becoming a cluster if not organized/monitored. Time will tell.

 

This morning there were probably about 20 trucks in there. They even have porta pots. So it looks like they are somewhat actively doing something.lol.

 

There is still a layer of dead bugs and grime after driving through the rain yesterday. I bet it will still be there after tomorrow too.

 

Just read an article that Ryder has purchased Midwest Warehouse. Wonder if it will eventually change anything at the mess in Memphis.

 

Rumor and by rumor the chatter in the drivers lounge while waiting for truck repair is Memphis is getting phased out for Mark Anthony.
Also I have yet to see a Heartland day cab on any road anywhere, yet there are no less than 30 brand new KW day cabs here in Columbus.

 

There were 4 KW day cabs at Phillipsburg NJ when I was there this week.
